For over 4 decades Ryukyu Kenpo Kobujutsu also called Sayeret Hagana Atsmit has undergone changes. Traditional Oriental teachings with modern western training methods. Full contact Bogu sparring for distancing, timing, power development, angles of attack, and desensitization training is utilized. Proper focus on targets, striking, and body weapons done slowly for for memory retention is emphasized. Modern and improvised weapons are taught. Namewise, Sayeret is Hebrew for an.'elite'. An example is the General Staff Reconnaissance Unit, Sayeret Matkal, it is the tier 1 prime special forces unit of Israel. Unlike Krav Maga, ours is not designed for the Israeli Defense Forces' limited time and budgetary training. While its roots are based on thousands of years of Chinese learning, and hundreds of years of Okinawan perfecting, it has been modernized to deal with this time's challenges. Developed in Israel in near secrecy, it is now being taught to the rest of the world.
