Psalm 27 Adonai Ori (The LORD is my Light), Christene Jackman
Shuv Creative is pleased to release an updated 2024 version of the song, “ADONAI Ori (The LORD is My Light), Psalm 27” by Christene Jackman, first released in 2011. Jackman set Psalm 27 to music and sings the lyrics written by King David in Biblical Hebrew. You can support the work of Christene Jackman by purchasing this digital Lyric video or MP3 download at https://www.christenejackman.com
MP3: https://www.christenejackman.com/mp3-albums-christene-jackman
Lyric Video: https://www.christenejackman.com/music-videos
This updated video is dedicated to Israel, a tiny nation struggling to survive; an island surrounded by enemies breathing out lies and threats of destruction. The Holy One of Israel is Creator of the Universe and our Redeemer. He keeps His Covenants, even when we are unfaithful. Time to repent, and come back to covenant faithfulness through the work of Mashiach (Messiah) Yeshua, Lion of the Tribe of Judah, and soon coming King. Pick up the Book. Read it: starting from Beresheet (Genesis).

THE BACKSTORY
Before you watch, let me first tell you a story regarding the song in this video. Songwriter/Singer Christene Jackman shared that many years after her father had died, her mom handed her an old, worn little bible. It turned out to be the gift her father had given her mother the day of Christene's birth.
Opening the tattered front page, she discovered scripture references scribbled by the hand of her late father outlining the Way of Salvation, as well as one specific psalm. That psalm listed was: Psalm 27, one that had always been among her favorites throughout her life. Jackman has now recorded this moving musical interpretation of Psalm 27 in keeping with the Psalm that was spoken over her life at birth by her father and her Heavenly Abba. "Coincidence" is not a kosher word :)
DISCOVER A DEEPER WORSHIP EXPERIENCE Looking for a way to go deeper during your worship time? Have you ever considered worshiping the Lord using the Psalms of Scripture? Enter a powerful level of worship singing and praying the actual Word of God in the original language: Biblical Hebrew. The fact that Hebrew as a language has been revived in these Last Days is a miracle in itself. Yes, God understands and accepts praise in English, of course, but that does not negate the fact that Hebrew is special. The original ancient scriptures were written almost exclusively in Hebrew.
FEATURES SUBTITLES
Don't know Hebrew? No problem, "ADONAI Ori (The LORD is My Light)", Psalm 27, has subtitles in Hebrew (for those who are learning Hebrew), transliterated Hebrew and English. Psalm 27 holds comfort and courage in the face of troubling times. The first portions of "ADONAI Ori", Psalm 27, are soothing, drawing the listener in. The final portion of the psalm breaks into statements of strong faith, with the feel of the song transitioning into a Latin-Middle Eastern fusion sound that will make you want to get up and dance like King David, proclaiming the Name and Mighty Acts of the LORD, the Holy One of Israel.
IDEAS FOR USAGE
Picture adding live Davidic Dance and Ethnic percussionists along with this video as a backdrop. Free chord charts are available at Christene Jackman's website for singers and bands to perform the song live.

In the year that king Uziyahu died – I saw Adonai
Seated on a throne – raised and lifted high.
Six winged Seraphim stood over Him – attending Adonai
Two wings covered their faces – two, their feet
And with two, they would fly
The Seraphim were crying out - one to another and I looked
At the sound of their shouting - the temple doorposts shook
As they cried:
Veh qara zeh el zeh veh ahmar: (They called out one to another:)

"Zakharyah (God Remembers)", Zechariah 2, Christene Jackman, Sing the Scriptures in Biblical Hebrew
MESSIANIC PRAISE AND WORSHIP SONG:
This worship lyric video of the Christene Jackman song, "Zakharyah (God Remembers) is based on Zechariah 2:10-13.
https://www.christenejackman.com/
Sung in Biblical Hebrew and some English,
"Zakharyah" was recorded live in Israel in July of 2009. The video contains exclusive images from the Old City of Jerusalem. Sub-titles include Hebrew characters with nikkud, transliterated Hebrew, and English. Messianic praise and worship music.
SONG BACK STORY ~ Note from recording artist, Christene Jackman:
"I wrote the song, "Zakharyah" after visiting the Western Wall in Jerusalem for the first time. Overhead, blue sky and white clouds were my canopy as I placed my fingers on the rough, cool rock. As I gently laid my forehead on a massive stone to pray, it felt as if I were resting my head on Abba Father's chest. Suddenly, without warning, I was overcome by deep emotion and started to weep. I was finally here. I was finally home. This place is what has been calling to me all my life. This is why "home" had never felt like "Home." I just didn't understand the call until now.
"זְכֹר אֲדֹנָי Zechor, ADONAI, zechor!" ("Remember, Lord, remember!") I cried out loud.
My tearful prayer set the two women on either side of me crying, too. Hiding my face in my hands, breathing in the scent of ancient stone, I whispered, "Remember your covenant with this precious people, Adonai."
When I eventually left the Old City of Jerusalem that day, I walked slowly back to my place in a stunned state. Absolutely stunned. I would try to explain it to you, but words fail me. You have to come here to understand this experience.
Later that night, I opened the Bible to read. It flipped opened to Zechariah. Zechariah in Hebrew is Zacharyah and means, "Yah (God) remembers"!
Whoa. Stunned again!
My eyes were drawn to Zechariah 2:10-13,
"Sing out and be happy, Zion my daughter! For look, I have come; I will settle in your midst, says the Lord. Many nations will join themselves to the Lord on that day, and they will be my people. Indeed, I will settle in the midst of you all. Then you will know that the Lord of Hosts has sent me to you. The Lord will inherit Judah as his portion in the holy land and he will choose Jerusalem once again. Be silent in the Lord's presence, all people everywhere, for he is being roused from his holy dwelling place."
Whoa. He heard my cry at the Wall and this was His way of telling me that He's not forgotten and that He is coming. What He promises He will do. Count on it. Zakaryah! God remembers!

He's told us the End from the Beginning!
Though long silent / Hear Him stirring
Creatures of Dust Shake tiny fists / Preachers of Lust Push useless grist
He is com - ing
Lovers of Self Bow to their god / Oblivious to the Makers' upturned Rod!
All will hear His Roar!
The Lion of Judah's coming!!
OOoooo! Mes-siah Ye-shua! / OOoooo! Soon "Salvation" comes!
Will you be ready?
THE TRIBULATION: Musical Interlude
THE END: The Return to The Garden
In the End again / The LORD creates / A New Heaven and Earth

INTRO:
Li-bi ya-chil be-kir-bi לִבִּי יָחִיל בְּקִרְבִּי / Ha-azina Elohim tefilati הַאֲזִינָה אֱלֹהִים תְּפִלָּתִי
(My heart within is in anguish / Give ear, O God, to my prayer: Tehilim/Psalms 55:5a & 2a)
Deep within / a well of weeping hides
Silent din / filled with voiceless cries
If only I were a bird / If only I were a bird / I would fly to Your Mountain tonight
Broken wings / a perch of painful spikes
Restless things / fill my days and my nights
If only I were a bird / If only I were a bird / I would fly to Your Mountain tonight
Can't change the Past / Won't force the Future, too
Lord, take my Now / And I will trust in You
Fly away little bird / Fly away, Ma-kha-seh' (shelter/refuge)
Va-ani evtach bach, Elohim אֱלֹהִים בָּךְ וַאֲנִי אֶבְטַח / Va-ADONAI yo-shi -eh -ni וַיהוָה יוֹשִׁיעֵנִי
(And I will trust in you, Elohim / and YHVH shall save me: Tehilim/Psalms 55:24b, 17b)
