Cigar Tube Circuit Tester - Troubleshooting Your Breadboard - Checking Voltage Source
This is a supplemental video to our page titled "Make a Cigar Tube Circuit Tester".
The purpose of this video is to help the individual trying to troubleshoot their breadboard prototype circuit for the Cigar Tube Circuit Tester. One reason why you might be having issues with getting your breadboard circuit to work correctly is because of low power from your power source, such as a battery. This video helps guide you to check your battery source and how to fix your issue.

Circuit Tester Demonstration
This is a supplemental video to our page titled "Make a Cigar Tube Circuit Tester".
This video is meant to demonstrate a typical circuit tester one can buy online or in a store. The way the particular circuit tester works in the video is by attaching the alligator clip probe to a negative point or grounding point of a circuit, in the demonstration in the video a 9V battery is used, so the alligator clamp is clamped to its negative terminal. You then touch the pointed probe at the end of the handle to a point in a circuit that has a voltage potential, or in the case of the demonstration in the video, the pointed probe end of the handle of the tool touches the positive terminal of the battery and then the LED within the circuit tester's handle lights up when a voltage potential is detected or is across the two probes of the tool, closing a circuit through the tool.

Cigar Tube Circuit Tester Demonstration - Switching Polarities
This is a supplemental video to our page titled "Make a Cigar Tube Circuit Tester".
This video is meant to demonstrate the cigar tube circuit tester one can learn to make at motbots.com. The way this circuit tester works in the video demonstration is by attaching the alligator clip probe to the negative terminal of a 9V battery. You then touch the paper clip probe at the end of the cigar tube handle to the positive terminal of the battery and then the white LED within the circuit tester's handle lights up, indicating a negative ground reading. Switch the probes around and the red LED lights up, indicating a positive ground reading.

Circuit Tester Comparisons - Minimum Voltage Testing
This is a supplemental video to our page titled "Make a Cigar Tube Circuit Tester".
The purpose of this video is to show a comparison between a typical store bought circuit tester and the cigar tube circuit tester that we've made in our "Make a Cigar Tube Circuit Tester" video series and step-by-step instructions at motbots.com.
The testing between the two circuit testers is to see what their minimum voltage readings are. Each are rated for test voltages of between 6V and 24V, but the test in the video shows if it is possible to go in the sub-six-volts range.

Fundamentals of Electronics: LEDs (LED w/ No Current Limiting Resistor)
This is a supplemental video to our page titled "Fundamentals of Electronics: LEDs".
This video is meant to demonstrate what happens to an LED when there is no current limiting resistor placed in the LED circuit. If you were to connect an LED straight to a power source, such as a battery, with no current limiting resistor in the circuit path, then the LED would try to dissipate as much power as it could causing it to burst in a quick flash and burn out — destroying the LED.
