Episode 7: Separation of Church and State
In our last episode, I shared about the difference between Justice and Social Justice. I concluded by saying that our founders created a republic based on Natural Law and the Laws of Nature’s God. They summarized this idea in the Declaration of Independence, in which they declared that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. I concluded with this Question for Reflection: What about the Separation of Church and State? Today, we’ll dig into answering this question. Increasingly, however, we’ve seen the rise of an attitude that “my tribe” has been wronged by “your tribe,” and that your tribe owes me reparations!” This leads us to a failure of personal responsibility and a domino effect that ends in anarchy. And so, this raises the following question that we’ll address in this episode: What is the difference between Justice and Social Justice?
