This is part one of a four part series on deep cleaning and conservation of an Enfield No 1 Mk III* rifle. This rifle saw two world wars and then ended up in Ethiopia, and is filthy, greasy, and rusty. Follow along with me in this series (4 parts) as we disassemble, take care of the wood and metal, and reassemble and test fire this multi war veteran. Sadly I "filmed" much of the disassembly with the camera turned off, but did catch the disassembly of the sear and disassembly of the bolt. Today we will install a steering gearbox brace on the GenX-J, my 1998 Jeep Cherokee. I bought the brace from Rusty's Off Road Products ( @RustysOffroad ). While I think that the clamp around the steering box could fit a little better (I point this out in the video), I have to admit that by the time this airs I will have had a month and a half of daily driving and some wheeling with the brace, and it has worked flawlessly and performed exactly as it should.
