Australian Shepherd at work herding ducks
Australian Shepherd at work herding ducks.
The Australian Shepherd is a breed of herding dog from the United States. The name of the breed is technically a misnomer, as it was developed in California in the 19th century, although it has its origins in Asturias, in the northwest of Spain; the breed was unknown in Australia at the time.

Squirrel attempting to clime a pole
Squirrel attempting to clime a pole.
Eastern gray squirrels forage for nuts, seeds, buds, and flowers of trees. Like other tree squirrels, the eastern gray squirrel plays an important role in what’s known as seed dispersal. As winter approaches, squirrels carry their food and bury it in several locations, but they sometimes forget exactly where. That helps the environment because these buried seeds and nuts sprout and grow the following spring.
Eastern gray squirrels have an excellent sense of smell, which they use to help locate food that they’ve hidden away. They can also pick up information about their fellow squirrels by smelling them.
They communicate with each other by making sounds and body movements, such as tail flicking. When predators such as red foxes and red-tailed hawks are nearby, eastern gray squirrels will sound warning calls to alert other squirrels#israel

Baby Panda makes first steps
Baby Panda makes first steps.
The giant panda, sometimes called a panda bear or simply panda, is a bear species endemic to China. It is characterised by its bold black-and-white coat and rotund body. The name "giant panda" is sometimes used to distinguish it from the red panda, a neighboring musteloid. Though it belongs to the order Carnivora, the giant panda is a folivore, with bamboo shoots and leaves making up more than 99% of its diet.

Feed wild red fox
Foxes live on every continent except Antarctica. The most common and widespread species of fox is the red fox (Vulpes vulpes) with about 47 recognized subspecies.[2] The global distribution of foxes, together with their widespread reputation for cunning, has contributed to their prominence in popular culture and folklore in many societies around the world. The hunting of foxes with packs of hounds, long an established pursuit in Europe, especially in the British Isles, was exported by European settlers to various parts of the New World.

Raccoon made his home in my chair's cushion
Raccoon made his home in my chair's cushion.
The raccoon, also spelled racoon and sometimes called the common raccoon to distinguish it from other species, is a mammal native to North America. It is the largest of the procyonid family, having a body length of 40 to 70 cm, and a body weight of 5 to 26 kg. Its grayish coat mostly consists of dense underfur, which insulates it against cold weather.
Like all raccoons, the North American raccoon is an intelligent and inquisitive animal. The hairless front feet are highly dexterous and resemble slender human hands, the hind feet being thicker and longer. Although classified as a carnivore, the raccoon is omnivorous, feeding on crayfish and other arthropods, rodents, frogs, and fruit and other plant matter, including crops. Raccoons are mistakenly believed to “wash” their food before eating it if water is available. This misconception arises from their habit of searching for food in or near water and then manipulating it while eating.
Raccoons adapt extremely well to human presence, even in towns and cities, where they den in buildings and thrive on a diet of garbage, pet food, and other items available to them. As availability of food is the primary factor affecting the abundance of raccoons, the highest population densities are often found in large cities. In the wild raccoons live in a wide variety of forest and grassland habitats. Most often found in proximity to water, they are also proficient swimmers. They climb readily and usually den in riverbanks, hollow trees or logs, or abandoned beaver lodges.

Squatter raccoon made a nest in the cushion of my deck chair.
The common raccoon (Procyon lotor) is a mid-size mammal distinguished by its black face mask and ringed tail. It is a member of the Procyonidae, a primarily tropical family of omnivores native to the Americas — and the only one of this family found in Canada. Raccoons are found in every province except Newfoundland and Labrador. A nocturnal species, it is highly adaptable and can survive in urban areas as well as wilderness habitats. Humans often consider raccoons pests due to their skill and persistence in raiding garbage bins, gardens and crops for food.

Famous singing dog Muktar (Hachico) in Yalta, Crimea died after concert
The dog Mukhtar, who over the years became a living landmark in Yalta, Crimea died. He had been waiting for his dead owner for 12 years and was known as a local Hachiko.
The animal began to be noticed on the Yalta promenade 12 years ago. It turned out that his owner, who worked as a lifeguard on the beach, died for unknown reasons, but Mukhtar tried to find him among passers-by. Soon, almost the entire city learned this story and nicknamed the dog Hachiko. Recall that in Japan, the dog of the Akita Inu breed from May 21, 1925 to March 8, 1935, was waiting at Shibuya Station for his owner, Professor Hidesaburo Ueno, who went to work at the university and died of a stroke.
A monument was erected to Hachiko during the life of the dog.
Mukhtar had musical abilities. About ten years ago the dog approached the local musician Viktor Malinovsky and began to “sing along.” They formed a kind of duet. The dog even had favorite compositions: ” From Souvenirs to Souvenirs” by Demis Roussos, “Strangers In The Night” by Frank Sinatra and “There is Only a Moment” by Alexander Zatsepin.
Mukhtar came to the musician more and more often, and after some time he himself was waiting for the man at their usual place to start the concert.
Once Mukhtar heard people screaming with delight on the trampoline, which the boat was dragging along the water. He decided that they were drowning, rushed to the rescue and was hit by the blades of the motor, but survived. His owner was a lifeguard, so apparently, he taught him how to react to emergencies.
On August 15, the dog and the musician played another joint concert on the promenade, during which Mukhtar behaved as usual. However, upon returning home, the dog refused to enter the apartment, so Malinovsky called the veterinarian. The doctor who arrived stated that due to age of the dog, his heart began to fail. The dog later died peacefully.
“He didn’t get sick at all. He just left because of his age - the dog was 20 years old.”
The head of the local administration, Yanina Pavlenko, called the death of the dog a "great loss." “Mukhtar was known and loved by almost everyone who came to our city. A very loyal dog. Of course, it’s a pity,” she said.
"The residents of Yalta appealed to the administration with the initiative to perpetuate the memory of the dog. This idea was supported by the head of the city," the press service said.
The statue is planned to be installed on the promenade, where the dog came for many years and waited for its first owner.

Dolphin Encounter - Eilat, Israel. Dolphins are free to come and go in this Dolphin Reef sanctuary
Dolphin Reef is a horseshoe-shaped sea-pen where bottlenose dolphins in the Gulf of Eilat in the northern-eastern Red Sea near the city of Eilat in southern Israel swim in and out of. It is a major tourist attraction in this area.
The Dolphin Reef opened its doors in 1990. The site is home to Black Sea bottlenose dolphins that are not trained to perform and there are no dolphin shows, but they are able to interact freely with human visitors. The dolphins, known for their curiosity and friendliness, approach the observation posts and floating piers, and swim alongside the people who snorkel and dive there.
The sea-pen covers an area of 10,000 square metres (110,000 sq ft), and is enclosed with buoyed nets. It is an average of 12 metres (39 ft) deep. The eastern side has a steeply sloping wall profile, giving way to a sandy slope. Many species of fish can be found in the area. Angelfish, butterflyfish, cuttlefish, bluespotted and blackspotted stingrays are common.
The Dolphin Reef Dive Center offers individual and group diving tours, as well as special therapy sessions for the disabled and seminars on animal and dolphin behavior.
Eilat is part of the Southern Negev Desert, at the southern end of the Arabah, adjacent to the Egyptian resort city of Taba to the south, the Jordanian port city of Aqaba to the east, and within sight of Haql, Saudi Arabia, across the gulf to the southeast.
Eilat's arid desert climate and low humidity are moderated by proximity to a warm sea. Temperatures often exceed 40 °C (104 °F) in summer, and 21 °C (70 °F) in winter, while water temperatures range between 20 and 26 °C (68 and 79 °F). Eilat averages 360 sunny days a year.

Tiger Revenge. Amur (Siberian) tiger tracks and kills a person who did him wrong.
Tiger revenge.
Amur tigers, also known as Siberian tigers, were once found throughout northern China, the Russian Far East and the Korean peninsula. By the 1940s, hunting had driven them to the brink of extinction—with no more than 40 individuals remaining in the wild.
Russia was the first country to grant the tiger full protection, saving the subspecies and bringing today's global population to about 400 individuals with the majority living in Russia and at least 18-20 adult individuals in the border areas of China.
Tigers are much smarter and more vengeful than you can imagine. Thanks to their excellent memory, these animals never forget those who offend them, and do not forgive easily. A person who shoots a tiger but does not kill it, or steals its prey, needs to be extremely careful, as the tiger may follow him months or even years later for revenge.
