One only needs to look at the Detroit Lions as a blueprint for success. Head coach Dan Campbell took over a 5-11 team and only won three games in his first year. After the 11th game of Campbell's second year, the Lions had compiled a 7-20-1 record. Fans in Detroit were screaming for a new head coach. Since then, the Lions have a record of 13-4. They have won eight of their first 10 games in 2023 and are considered one of the NFC's best teams.
There are still many games to play this year, and the improvements in Chicago have to start showing up in the win column. Has Ryan Poles seen enough to warrant another year of this coaching staff? Many will say no. The other edge to this sword is pulling the plug too soon. Ryan Poles has tough decisions to make between now and January 8th

Bears Press Eberflus || Bears vs Lions || 2023 Week 14 || #nfl #chicagobears
If Scott runs the route properly, he scores the game-clinching TD, and the Bears give coach Eberflus his signature win: A dominant victory against one of the best teams in the NFC, winning on their home field. It also would have been Chicago's first back-to-back wins since 2021.
But with that blunder, Chicago had to punt the ball back to the Lions. 10 plays later, former Bear running back David Montgomery scored the game-winning touchdown from the one-yard line, and the Lions walked away with a come-from-behind victory.
The Bears dominated this game for 54 minutes. They won the turnover battle with 3 interceptions and a fumble recovery. They also dominated the time of possession, controlling the ball for more than 40 minutes. Losing a game with that domination was hard to stomach. It turns out it had never happened.
Now Bears look for revenge in their second matchup against the Detroit Lions

Week 12 Fields Game Winning Drive vs Vikings #nfl #chicagobears
Week 12 Fields Game Winning Drive vs Vikings #nfl #chicagobears
In a picture-book ending, Fields leads the team on a long drive and hits DJ Moore for a game-winning touchdown with less than ten seconds remaining. But that wouldn't happen this night. Just five plays into their drive after Minnesota scored to take the lead, Fields tried to scramble for a first down and fumbled again. Minnesota takes over at the Chicago 43-yard line with only 3:28 remaining.
This is where the Bears' defense had collapsed all season. The Bears had seemingly found another way to lose again.
But on this night, the defense did NOT collapse. The defense forced a three-and-out. Minnesota wisely punts rather than attempting a 61-yard field goal. The Bears' last chance starts at their 22-yard line. The Bears have no timeouts remaining, and the clock reads 2:29.
Now or never for Justin Fields
A 16-yard pass to Moore. Two-Minute Warning. Fields scrambles to his left for five yards. Designed run for Fileds, good for eight yards and a first down, 1:43 on the clock, and time is winding down. Fields can't find a receiver and smartly throws the ball away on consecutive plays, leading to the play of the day.
Third down and ten, 1:06 left. Fields hits his drop, steps up, and delivers a laser to Moore at the Minnesota 26. He bulls ahead inside the 15. An incredible play! It was the biggest throw of the night at the biggest time, good for 36 yards. Santos kicks the winning field goal, and the Bears win!

Yannick Ngakoue brings PRESSURE #nfl #chicagobears #ngakoue
Yannick Ngakoue leads Bears D-Line #nfl #chicagobears
The #Bears are signed former #Colts star pass-rusher Yannick Ngakoue to a 1-year, $10.5M deal, sources say, giving them a weapon off the edge they’ve been seeking. Ngakoue has never played for Matt Eberflus, but he’s played in his system before. It should be seamless. Yannick brings a veteran pass rush to the Bears which is MUCH Needed, and a 1 year deal is perfect for the Bears.
He is showing why he is worth the contract, and he is definitely making a case why he should be here for more than 1 year.
D'onta Foreman is running HARD for the Chicago Bears #nfl #chicagobears
The Chicago Bears were very busy in 2023 Free Agency. They signed RB D'Onta Foreman from the Carolina Panthers. Foreman had almost 1,000 yards on the season and 5 TDs. The Panthers had Christian Mcaffrey for the first 5 weeks of the season, so Foreman put up nearly 1,000 yards AFTER they traded Mcaffrey. The guy is a big strong running back with fresh legs. He showed exactly what he can do when he got the start in week 7 against the raiders and put up a 3 TD performance in the week 7 Victory, and in week 9 against the saints he was one of the main reasons the Bears offense was able to keep the chains moving. This back proves to be a big part of the offense week to week, whenever he gets 20 or more touches he averages 4 yards a carry, the Bears may want to think about keeping Foreman around for longer than just the 2023 Season.

Do The Bears Fire Matt Eberflus? #nfl #chicagobears
After the Denver game, players from the Broncos commented on how they could feel the momentum shift. Chicago was playing scared. It boosted their confidence as they came from behind. After Detroit sealed their comeback victory, Lions player echoed those sentiments, saying the Bears were playing not to lose.
On Thanksgiving, the Lions found themselves in an identical situation, trailing the Packers by two scores midway through the second half. Unlike the Bears' lack of confidence late in games, Green Bay has had success in the 4th quarter this season. The Packers coaches stayed aggressive and found a way to win.
Green Bay was prepared for Detroit. They forced the Lions to throw underneath coverages, then stymied them on every fourth down. Detroit failed to pick up a first down on fourth down several times in the second half until the Lions' last drive. By the time Detroit finally scored late in the 4th, they had run out of time.
Chicago's roster is young, and Matt Eberflus and Luke Getsy are only in their second year in such a position of authority. It has become painfully obvious they are coaching not to lose. Late in games, the defense is sticking to a personnel rotation when their best players should be on the field making plays.
These are all correctable mistakes that come with time and experience. Many fans and Bears beat writers simply do not believe this coaching staff will be allowed to continue with the team after the season is over

Justin Fields thoughts on Lions Game || Bears Press || #nfl #chicagobears #fields
This latest defensive collapse never should have occurred. The Bears had several opportunities to win this game, but those chances slipped through their fingertips, both literally and figuratively. Jaylon Johnson dropped an interception that likely would have been returned for a touchdown. Detroit scored on the next play to tie the game 7-7. Johnson would also drop another potential interception. Both plays were extremely detrimental to the game's outcome. Offensively, Bears rookie Tyler Scott also had two costly blunders. The first was his fumble that led to Detroit's first score. Late in the fourth quarter, Justin Fields found Scott for what would have been a game-clinching completion, only to see Scott slowed down, and the ball fell to the ground for an incompletion.
If Scott runs the route properly, he scores the game-clinching TD, and the Bears give coach Eberflus his signature win: A dominant victory against one of the best teams in the NFC, winning on their home field. It also would have been Chicago's first back-to-back wins since 2021.

Everything Bears Week 11 Thoughts || Week 12 prediction || #nfl #chicagobears #fields
Last year, the defense was pathetic against the pass and the run. This year, Chicago's defense is first overall in allowing the fewest yards per carry. This year's 3.4 ypc is a significant improvement. Chicago ranked near the bottom of the league last season with a yards per carry of 4.9.
Chicago's rushing game is averaging a league-best 5.4 yards per carry. Adding to that impressive mark, the Bears' offense is in the top 5 in third-down conversions and red zone efficiency. Playoff contenders Baltimore and San Francisco are the only other teams that rank in the top five in all three categories.
These improvements need to start turning losses into wins. One only needs to look at the Detroit Lions as a blueprint for success. Head coach Dan Campbell took over a 5-11 team and only won three games in his first year. After the 11th game of Campbell's second year, the Lions had compiled a 7-20-1 record. Season Half Recap || Bears Offense Highlights every game || #nfl #chicagobears
Sorry Everyone only game missing is the Chargers... but were not missing much.
When things go very wrong, everyone is at fault. Who is ultimately to blame? What change would make the most impact? Or do you swallow this and hope consistency and continuity ultimately work out in the long run? The Bears stuck to their plan, and although mistakes are still common, atleast they are able to do some things right on offense.
Cole Kmet is at 419 Yards and 5 TDs so far and he is well on his way to putting up career high numbers. The TE was extended earlier this year, and Bears fans should be very happy to see the kind of production Kmet has given them. He has also improved a ton in the blocking game. His future as a Chicago Bear is exciting
DJ Moore had a career high game - 230 yds 3 TDs on 8 receptions in week 5, He single handedly got this much needed win for the Chicago Bears.
Clearly a #1 Wide Receiver makes a HUGE on a young and developing quarterback. There are nothing but smiles from Justin Fields and the rest of the offense every time this guy makes a play, even when the backup QB is the one throwing to him. His production should increase again with Justin Fields coming back into the mix, and with 793 yards and 5 TDs so far, DJ Moore is on pace to have a career high year in both statistical categories.
His preseason performance has a lot of Bears fans convinced that Tyson Bagent has some potential. He definitely performed better than PJ Walker and Nathan Peterman, and he didnt let the fanbase down when he got his opportunity to start against the Raiders. He showed exactly why he earned the QB 2 role, and he has an opportunity in front of himself to really make a name for himself in the NFL and raise some eyebrows.
Justin Fields throws 8 TDs in 2 games
67% comp | 43/64 | 8 TD 1 INT | 617 passing yds | 64 rushing yds
Justin Fields dazzled against the Broncos, but the Bears could not hold onto a 21-point lead, allowing Denver to score 24 unanswered in a 31-28 Bears' 14th straight loss
Justin Fields and the Chicago Bears put on a first-half show against the Washington Commanders in a 40-20 win at FedEx Field on Thursday. Fields threw for three touchdowns in the opening two quarters -- two to DJ Moore and one to Cole Kmet -- to help the Bears to a 27-3 lead at halftime, then securing the victory with one more TD to DJ Moore.

Bears Lost to Chargers in First Half
It was very clear, The bears defense could not stop the Chargers, and the Bears offense was not ready to keep up with what the Chargers were able to do. The O line shot killed early drives for the bears with penalties, and the Bears coaching staff asked their UDFA QB in his second start to throw the ball 37 times. Meanwhile the Charges capitalized on mistakes and just took advantage of the Bears Defense.
