OffShift's privacy focused Defi protocol is set to launch its mainnet come February 27th and they have some interesting things instore for users. NFT Platform Sorare and the English Premier League have signed a multi-year deal for a license to offer NFTs of league player cards in an exciting next step. Some more interesting developments over the past week at the state level as lawmakers push for crypto currency to be accepted as payments for things like fines, rent, taxes and more. Both in New York and Arizona lawmakers seem to be appealing to their voter base to bring decentralized payments forward as an option for users seeking to be apart of the digital payment space outside of the coming CBDC environment. Decentralized finance and the centralized financial space do not mix. I think this has become more and more apparent over the past year with things like Celsius, Terra LUNA, FTX and the Genesis bankruptcy that has left millions of users within the crypto currency community rekt! IM hoping this is a wake up call for people and that they begin to move away from the farce that became known as "CEFI" and that they start using DEFI applications like Aave, Curve, Compound etc. I also Share my experience using this Dapps and other less known Dapps like Mstable and Moonwell that offer people an avenue for more control over their finances outside of the centralized space. Today I talk about how a Canadian Pension Fund lost $150 Million USD on the now defunct Celsius platform. I also touch on how this all could have been avoided had people just been using decentralized finance applications like Compound, Aave and Maker. These Centralized crypto finance platforms are toxic to the entire cryptocurrency ecosystem as they all seem to be overleveraged and outright fraudulent. I think more of these Cefi platforms will continue to go under and we will see more pension funds like this one posting loses due to a lack of oversight.
