10 Things That The Simpsons Predicted That Actually Happened
10 Things That The Simpsons Predicted That Actually Happened
#simpsonspredictions #simpsonfuturepredictions #simpsons
When you're watching the Simpsons or any animated show for that matter, you probably don't take things too seriously. Many simply consider it to be a fun cartoon. However, perhaps we should have been paying more attention all these years as it is clear the writers of the show know something that we don't. The Simpsons have correctly predicted the future countless times without the viewers even knowing. In today's video we take a look at 10 predictions the Simpsons made that eventually came true. Stay tuned and watch
Before we begin this video , if you're new to the channel, make sure you like and subscribe to the channel. Turn on the bell for the latest notifications and updates. That way, you'll never miss a video from us . With that said, let's not waste any more time and get right into today's content
The Smartwatch
Today the smartwatch is quite a common cclothing accessory. Its something that many people around the world now own, and is no longer a big surprise to see, however, they are still very much considered a high-end product and are something that nobody would ever have expected to see a couple of decades ago. The Simpsons actually featured a smartwatch all the way back in 1995 when Lisa meets a fortune teller, who presents her with a possibility of what might down the line where she is engaged to someone called Hugh. However, while that hasn't come to fruition on the show, something that has is the smartwatch that Hugh actually talks into to order someone around, giving a wink to the audience as to what would be coming in the future.
FIFA Corruption
The 2022 FIFA World Cup which is being hosted by Qatar is perhaps the most controversial world cups in the history of the sport. The organisation has been accused of being corrupt and taking bribes and a bribe seems to be the alleged reason for Qatar winning the hosting rights for the 2022 tournament. Now, it turns out that FIFA isn't just a corrupt sports organisation in real life but that the soccer organisation was corrupt and used bribes within its show as well. While a lot of people did suspect this, not many people went out and actually said it as this show did. Only a year later, this was proven to be accurate as it was revealed that certain bodies within FIFA had actually used bribes and fraud in order to fix certain results during official tournaments.
Attacked by a tiger
In 1993 during an episode of The Simpsons, Mr. Burns opened up his own casino, which featured a magic show that had a Roy Horn parody within it, yet as with most episodes of the popular cartoon, something ended up going wrong as one man was attacked by their tiger.
While nobody wanted to see that actually happen in real life due to the severity of the situation, in 2003 it became a reality when Roy was actually attacked by his tiger Montecore in real life, causing a huge shock as he suffered injuries that stopped him walking or talking for several years.
However, to his credit, even though he was attacked Roy made sure that nothing happened to the tiger, who eventually died due to natural causes.
Disney owning Fox
The fact that The Simpsons was able to accurately predict this one is actually quite scary, considering that it was effectively trying to guess its own future, by claiming that Fox would one day end up being bought out by the Walt Disney company.
This monumental deal took place in 2017 when Disney purchased 21st Century Fox for an incredible $52 billion, ensuring that the company that has produced so many blockbuster animation movies now owns the biggest cartoon television show of all time.
However, The Simpsons actually predicted this all the way back in 1998, with an episode where Homer wrote to 20th Century Fox as a joke, with the sign shown above being shown in an establishing shot of the Fox building.
