Put an End to Banging Waterpipes!!! Installing and Adjusting a Pressure Reducing Valve!
Most everyone has had the agonizing experience of showering under the anemic trickle of water resulting from a building's low water pressure. No fun whatsoever.
But can there be such a thing as TOO MUCH water pressure?
If your water lines RUMBLE like a freight train or sound as if someone's hitting them with a sledgehammer, whenever you open and shut a faucet or flush the toilet, then it's very likely that you're the victim of excessive incoming water pressure! Aside from the obvious nuisance that high water pressure may cause, the continual shock inflicted upon your pipes and fixtures can quite literally be DAMAGING to your entire plumbing system!
The good news is that there is a solution to help 'ease the pressure' (and the headaches from all that noise!). And that solution is called a called a 'Pressure Reducing Valve' (or PRV for short), which allows you to reduce the incoming building's water pressure to a safe and desired amount.
Today we'll be installing and adjusting a Watts PRV model LF25AUB-Z3…and it's not as complicated as it may sound, although there is a proper way to do it so that it's effective. With the guidance of this video, I'm going to show you how!
Goodbye banging pipes!!!

This faucet water leak is expensive because it's often so hard to detect (yet more common than you think!)
I encourage you to take a peek under your laundry tub: Are you unknowingly losing gallons and gallons of water through your trap seal priming tube?

Never Need A Coupling Again! How to Swage Copper Pipe!
The more versatile and skilled a plumber is on the jobsite, the more OPTIONS they have to handle unforeseen circumstances...like finding out that you've run out of couplings during your copper pipe installation!
Don't begrudgingly run out to the supplier just yet!...because this video is going to show you how to join two plain-end pieces of copper pipe using a very simple and inexpensive tool, via a technique known as SWAGING!
In addition to saving on couplings, swaging also cuts down on potential leaks and deficiencies, because there's only ONE connection joint instead of TWO! Now how cool is that? 😁
So remember, with swaging: No coupling?...NO PROBLEM!!! 💪

How to Descale a Tankless Water Heater Simply and Efficiently!
Tankless water heaters are a technological marvel! A far cry from the traditional tank-type water heater, these wonderful devices render running out of hot water during a soothing bath or shower nothing more than a bad memory! However, as with all precise and high-tech devices, some TLC by means of routine maintenance will be necessary to keep your hot water running for years to come.
For tankless water heaters, Public Enemy No. 1 comes in the form of SCALE, which is the rock-like residue left behind on surfaces they're subject to a water supply that is overly-packed with calcium and magnesium minerals…otherwise known as HARD water. The accumulation of scale inside your tankless water heater can lead to inefficient operation, or even worse: No hot water at all!
Thankfully, there's an INEXPENSIVE and SIMPLE way to remove scale from the internals of your tankless water heater to help keep it humming along for years to come…all you need are a few items and well, this step-by-step video, of course!
Here's what you're gonna need:
-Submersible pump with a 3/4" male HOSE thread outlet. The one I used can be found here:
https://www.amazon.ca/Superior-91250-Thermoplastic-Submersible-Utility/dp/B000X05G1A/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3EH3L4PTRAIJB&keywords=superior+pump+91250&qid=1658621641&sprefix=superior+pump+91250%2Caps%2C80&sr=8-1
-Two 5-foot (1.5 meter) washing machine hoses with female ends.
-One to two gallons of household white vinegar
-One five gallon bucket or equivalent container
-Clean rag or paper towels.
OK, you've got everything you need, now GO WATCH THE VIDEO and save your tankless water heater from certain doom!!! 💪

Wet Venting EXPLAINED!!!
Probably the most questions I get asked about plumbing code is Wet Venting. There are a lot of rules, but once you know them well, you open yourself up to a world of proper plumbing options and efficiencies.
Among the most common wet vent applications is the three-piece bathroom rough-in. It's also a great way to get introduced to the subject. I hope this short video will help remove some mysteries about wet venting.
