Ep. 254 The Secret to Making Friends
Have you ever found yourself struggling to make friends, especially when you're in a new place or starting fresh in a new environment? Whether you're the new kid in class, recently moved to a different city, or just feeling a bit isolated, building connections can sometimes feel overwhelming. But here's the truth: making friends starts with being a friend.
In this video, I’m sharing some valuable insights and personal stories about how you can develop meaningful friendships by simply being present and showing genuine interest in others. I’ll talk about the importance of looking beyond the "cool group" and reaching out to those who might feel like outliers. It’s often those small acts of kindness that lead to the strongest bonds.
But I get it—being present and engaging with others isn’t always easy, especially if you've experienced bullying, isolation, or a challenging home life that may have made it difficult to trust or connect with others. That’s where coaching can be incredibly helpful. I’ll discuss how working with a Catholic life coach or a personal development coach can help you learn the skills needed to attract and maintain friendships, skills that are vital for a fulfilling life.
I’ll also share a story about my own experience of moving to a new place and how I found friendship by following the example of someone who’s a master at building connections. From simple steps to more in-depth coaching strategies, this video is packed with practical advice to help you overcome loneliness and start forming the relationships you’ve always wanted.
So, if you’ve ever felt disconnected or unsure about how to make friends, this video is for you. Remember, God wants you to be happy, and part of that happiness comes from the relationships we build. And if you need extra support, don’t hesitate to reach out to a coach who can guide you on this journey. Tune in, and let’s work together to create the friendships that enrich our lives.

Ep. 253 Coping with the Loss of a Pet
Today, I want to dive into a topic that's very close to my heart—the loss of a beloved pet. For many of us, our furry friends are more than just animals; they're cherished members of our family. Losing them, whether through a tragic accident or after a long, happy life, can be profoundly painful.
A few months ago, I had to say goodbye to my almost 20-year-old papillon, and it was one of the hardest things I've ever experienced. In this video, I’ll share my personal journey through grief and how I found solace in prayer and acceptance. I'll also discuss some of the tough decisions we face, like euthanasia, and explore the question of whether our pets will be in heaven.
If you’re grieving the loss of a pet or know someone who is, I hope this video brings you comfort and understanding. We'll also talk about how seeking support from a good Catholic therapist can help navigate complicated grief. And remember, it’s okay to love again and perhaps open your heart to another pet in the future.
Tune in to hear more about my experience, find solace in shared struggles, and get a bit of encouragement to help you through this challenging time. God bless you and know that I’ll be keeping you in my prayers.

I’ll also provide practical tips on how to identify and shift those limiting beliefs.
We’ll discuss where these mindsets often come from, whether they’re rooted in family beliefs, personal experiences, or past traumas. Plus, I’ll explain how working with a coach can be a game-changer in transforming these beliefs and opening doors to new possibilities.
So, if you’re ready to take a closer look at your mindset and see how it’s shaping your life, tune in. Whether you’re looking to be a better parent, succeed in your career, or simply live a more fulfilling life, this video is for you!

Ep. 250 What Will You Magnify
Tune in for a profound discussion on personal growth, virtue, and the importance of self-reflection! Join me as I recount a compelling story about a longtime friend who experienced a painful family rift. Over the years, certain difficult traits within his family have only magnified, echoing C.S. Lewis’s insights from “The Great Divorce” about how unchecked vices can grow over time. We'll delve into the idea that virtues need to be actively pursued to prevent negative traits from dominating our lives.
In this session, I’ll share personal anecdotes and valuable lessons about the importance of constructive feedback and the humbling process of recognizing our flaws. We'll explore how regular practices like confession and prayer can help us overcome our weaknesses and transform us into better individuals. Plus, discover why starting our own “purgatory” on Earth—through reparation and forgiveness—can lead to a more peaceful and fulfilling life.
Don't miss out on this enlightening conversation about magnifying virtues, mitigating vices, and striving for holiness. Like and share if you find this helpful, and let's grow together in faith and grace. God bless!

Ep. 248 Are You Reactive or Are You Responsive
Today, we're diving into an intriguing question: Are you reactive or are you responsive? We all have strong emotions, especially when something upsetting happens, but what's the difference between reacting emotionally and responding thoughtfully?
We'll start by understanding emotions themselves. Emotions are psychological motors that drive us toward the good, beautiful, and true, and away from what's not. However, the key to emotional health is guiding our emotions with reason. This means taking the information our emotions provide and thinking through the best way to respond.
I'll share practical examples and tips on how to shift from reactive to responsive, which can lead to healthier relationships and a happier life. If you find it challenging due to past traumas, I'll also discuss the importance of seeking support from a good Catholic therapist.
Tune in to explore how you can master your emotions and transform your interactions. God bless!

Ep. 246 You Are Not Your Diagnosis
I want to take a moment to talk about something that's been on my mind, especially given the tough times we're all facing. Many people are grappling with emotional and mental health challenges, and whether you're in therapy, considering it, or just searching for answers online, it's crucial to remember this: You are not your diagnosis.
There's a troubling trend of labeling people with mental health diagnoses as if it's their entire identity. Whether it's on the news or social media, terms like "narcissist" or "OCD" are thrown around carelessly. But mental health is complex, and even when a diagnosis is given, it's a tool for treatment, not a permanent label.
Think of it like this: if you were diagnosed with anemia last year, it doesn't define you forever. Similarly, mental health conditions can change and improve. Healing is possible, and people do change, especially with the right help and determination.
It's dangerous to pigeonhole others—or ourselves—based on a diagnosis. This is particularly true for children. Labels can limit potential and dismiss individuality. Instead, recognize that while a diagnosis might guide treatment, it doesn't encapsulate a person's entire being or potential.
Remember, even serious conditions like personality disorders or PTSD can be treated and managed effectively. Labels should serve clinicians, not define people. We have a God who heals, and there's always hope.
Please share this message with anyone who might need to hear it. God bless you.

Ep. 245 The Often-Overlooked Part of Prayer
Today, I want to dive into an often-overlooked aspect of prayer that many of us miss out on. It's easy to start by asking God for what we want and there's nothing wrong with that. But let's take a deeper look at how some biblical heroes approached prayer.
One of my favorite stories is from the book of Tobit, where we meet Saint Raphael, the Archangel of Healing. We see Tobit and Sarah, both in desperate situations, beginning their prayers with praise, even in their darkest moments. Tobit says, "You are righteous, oh Lord, and all your deeds are just. All your ways are mercy and truth." Similarly, Sarah praises God before expressing her anguish.
Starting our prayers with praise helps us remember who God is and aligns ourselves with His greatness. It’s not just about honoring Him, but also reminding ourselves of His power and presence.
Reflecting on the recent gospel about Jesus calming the storm, we see how crucial faith is. When the disciples were terrified, Jesus asked, "Why are you afraid? Do you not yet have faith?" This is a powerful reminder that, even in our storms, Jesus is with us and can calm our fears with a single word.
In our world today, with so much chaos and anxiety, it's easy to feel like Jesus is asleep and unaware of our struggles. But He is with us, and we need to continuously praise Him, trust in His plans, and remember His power.
So, when you pray, don’t forget to praise God. Recognize who He is and His immense power. Your problems are never too big for Him. I hope you find this message helpful and encouraging. Please like and share this video. God bless you!

Ep. 244 Goal Shifting
I want to dive into a concept I call "goal shifting." Throughout our lives, we all strive for happiness and fulfillment, aiming to be the best versions of ourselves. However, it's easy to get sidetracked by what we think will make us happy, especially in relationships and careers.
In relationships, particularly when dating, we often start with the goal of finding happiness. But as problems arise, our focus can shift from being happy to trying to make the relationship work at all costs, even if we're not truly happy. This can also happen in our careers—choosing a path in school, only to find it's not fulfilling once we're working in the field.
The key is to continually evaluate and ask ourselves if our current situation is making us happy and helping us grow. Sometimes, we need to pivot and reassess our goals. This is where a life coach can be incredibly helpful, offering guidance and helping us discern our true calling.

Ep. 242 Hold a Vision for Them
Many of us are grappling with despair and hopelessness, especially when we see our loved ones suffering. Whether it's our children facing bullying at school, the pain of a broken relationship, or other disappointments, it's heart-wrenching to watch. We often absorb their pain, feeling their despair deeply.
However, there's a powerful gift we can offer: holding a vision of a better future for them. Picture them happier, healed, and in fulfilling relationships. This vision isn't always meant to be spoken aloud, especially in sensitive situations like a recent loss. Instead, it’s about silently supporting them with hope and positivity.
For parents, it’s about envisioning a brighter path for your children, even when they seem lost or are making questionable choices. This act of faith and hope can be shared at the right moment, helping guide them towards their goals.
As a Catholic life coach, this practice is fundamental. We hold a vision for healing, success, and fulfillment, reminding our clients of their dreams and encouraging them through tough times. This is not just coaching, it’s an act of charity and love.
Tune in to learn how to embrace this practice.

Ep. 241 Detachment: What Is It, Why It Matters and How To Get It
Today, we're diving into the grace of detachment—what it is, why it matters, and most importantly, how to cultivate it. When we pray, we're told to ask, seek, and knock, and we trust Jesus' words on this. But what if we're not ready for what we're asking, or God has something better in store? Becoming too attached to our desired outcomes can lead to frustration.
I used to pray fervently for what I wanted without considering detachment, often ending up frustrated. Now, I understand that praying for the grace of detachment is essential. For example, if you're struggling financially, you might pray to be wealthy or content in poverty. It’s tough, but necessary to reconcile this.
Detachment helps us accept that God might have a different timeline or plan. Whether it's a relationship, a child, or another goal, we should want these good things but also trust God’s timing and wisdom. Pray every day for the grace of detachment, pour out your heart to God, and ask Him to open your heart to His will. This takes humility, acknowledging that God's plan is greater than ours, which brings peace.
I hope this message resonates with you. Don't forget to like and share the video. God bless you.

Ep. 240 Are You Dealing With “What Is?” or “What Should Be?”
I have a question for you, Do you deal with life as it is or as you think it should be? I see a lot of frustration around us, and it often stems from our expectations not matching reality.
There's plenty to be upset about in the world and in our personal lives, but finding peace comes from accepting things as they are. I'll share some practical advice and personal insights on how to do just that. For instance, we all know someone who's always late, right? Instead of getting frustrated, we can adjust our expectations and set boundaries.
Let's also talk about setbacks and disappointments. While it's natural to feel hurt, the sooner we accept our reality and focus on what we can control, the sooner we find peace. In times of distress, turning to faith and seeking support from a Catholic therapist can provide a divine perspective and help us see how God’s plan is working through our challenges.
Join me as we explore how to embrace life as it is, find strength in faith, and reduce frustration by letting go of how we think things should be. Tune in and let's find peace together. God bless you.

Ep. 238 Have We Become Circus Poodles?
Do you think critically or do you find yourself going along with the trends? Many people may look intelligent these days, but they’re not really thinking for themselves, kind of like trained circus poodles. Poodles are very intelligent and are easily trained, but they don’t actually think for themselves.
In today’s video, I outline some principles to learn how to think critically, and to avoid abusive relationships, and the gaslighting that has become so prevalent today.

Do you come from a perfect family? I didn’t think so. None of us do. Some families may be more seriously dysfunctional than others and if this describes your family, do reach out to a Catholic therapist for hope and healing.
But for the most part, even if the dysfunction is not serious, there can still be a lot of challenges. Some of it may be very predictable. By stepping out and trying a different perspective, it can make a big difference. Sometimes we need to have a sense of humor and imagine our family as a sitcom.
