Traffic - Rainmaker
Traffic were an English rock band formed in Birmingham in April 1967 by Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi, Chris Wood and Dave Mason. They began as a psychedelic rock group and diversified their sound through the use of instruments such as keyboards (such as the Mellotron and harpsichord), sitar, and various reed instruments, and by incorporating jazz and improvisational techniques in their music.
Lyrics:
Rainmaker, rainmaker
Rainmaker, rainmaker
Rainmaker, rainmaker
The sky is gray just by the touch of your hand
Rainmaker, rainmaker
Rainmaker, rainmaker
Rainmaker, rainmaker
Make me some rain, make all my crops grow tall
Rainmaker, rainmaker
Rainmaker, rainmaker
Rainmaker, rainmaker
The sky is gray, the ground is so hard
It's been cracked by the sun
Rainmaker, you know my work's never done

Traffic - Rock 'n' Roll Stew

They began as a psychedelic rock group and diversified their sound through the use of instruments such as keyboards (such as the Mellotron and harpsichord), sitar, and various reed instruments, and by incorporating jazz and improvisational techniques in their music.
Lyrics:
Sitting in a transit all night long
Playing clubs and rocking right on
The road's much too long since I've been wasting my time
Wish I was home again sipping my wine
And I'm gone, gone, gone, I don't care
'Cause I'm gone, gone, gone, I don't care
It's where I'm from, I'm on the road again
LA to London is a mighty long time
Eight hours flying can bring you down
Sitting near a suit who's a red-neck going
Eyes are moving but there's no life showing
Now that I'm home again
Things are much better, biding my time with my little go-getter
No matter what they say, no matter what they do
Gonna end up in the middle of that rock & roll stew
Gone, gone, gone...

Traffic - Low Spark Of High Heeled Boys
Traffic drummer Jim Capaldi started writing this song in Morocco, where he was getting ready to make a movie called Nevertheless with actor Michael J. Pollard. The film project fell through, but did lead to one of Traffic's best-known songs. Said Capaldi: "Pollard and I would sit around writing lyrics all day, talking about Bob Dylan and the Band, thinking up ridiculous plots for the movie. Before I left Morocco, Pollard wrote in my book 'The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys.' For me, it summed him up. He had this tremendous rebel attitude. He walked around in his cowboy boots, his leather jacket. At the time he was a heavy little dude. It seemed to sum up all the people of that generation who were just rebels. The 'Low Spark,' for me, was the spirit, high-spirited. You know, standing on a street corner. The low rider. The 'Low Spark' meaning that strong undercurrent at the street level.
Lyrics:
If you see something that looks like a star
And it's shooting up out of the ground
And your head is spinning from a loud guitar
And you just can't escape from the sound
Don't worry too much, it'll happen to you
We were children once, playing with toys
And the thing that you're hearing is only the sound of
The low spark of high-heeled boys
The percentage you're paying is too high priced
While you're living beyond all your means
And the man in the suit has just bought a new car
From the profit he's made on your dreams
But today you just read that the man was shot dead
By a gun that didn't make any noise
But it wasn't the bullet that laid him to rest, was
The low spark of high-heeled boys
If you had just a minute to breathe
And they granted you one final wish
Would you ask for something like another chance?
Or something sim'lar as this?
Don't worry too much It'll happen to you
As sure as your sorrows are joys
And the thing that disturbs you is only the sound of
The low spark of high-heeled boys
The percentage you're paying is too high priced
While you're living beyond all your means
And the man in the suit has just bought a new car
From the profit he's made on your dreams
But today you just read that the man was shot dead
By a gun that didn't make any noise
But it wasn't the bullet that laid him to rest, was
The low spark of high-heeled boys (heeled boys)
If I gave you everything that I owned
And asked for nothing in return
Would you do the same for me as I would for you?
Or take me for a ride
And strip me of everything, including my pride
But spirit is something that no one destroys
And the sound that I'm hearing is only the sound
The low spark of high-heeled boys (heeled boys)

Jimi Hendrix - All Along The Watchtower
"All Along the Watchtower" is strongly identified with the interpretation Jimi Hendrix recorded with the Jimi Hendrix Experience for their third studio album, Electric Ladyland (1968). The Hendrix version, released six months after Bob Dylan's original recording, became a Top 20 single in 1968, received a Grammy Hall of Fame award in 2001, and was ranked 48th in Rolling Stone magazine's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time in 2004 (40th in the 2021 version).
Lyrics:
There must be some way out of here
Said the joker to the thief
There's too much confusion
I can't get no relief
Businessmen, they drink my wine
Plowmen dig my earth
None of them along the line
Know what any of it is worth
"No reason to get excited"
The thief, he kindly spoke
"There are many here among us
Who feel that life is but a joke"
"But you and I, we've been through that
And this is not our fate
So, let us not talk falsely now
The hour is getting late"
All along the watchtower
Princes kept the view
While all the women came and went
Barefoot servants, too
Outside, in the distance
A wildcat did growl
Two riders were approaching
The wind began to howl

Man in the Box is a song by the American rock band Alice in Chains. It was released as a single in January 1991 after being featured on the group's debut studio album, Facelift (1990). Lyrics:
[Verse 1: Layne Staley]
I'm the man in the box
Buried in my shit
[Pre-Chorus: Layne Staley]
Won't you come and save me?
Save me
[Chorus: Layne Staley & Jerry Cantrell]
Feed my eyes
(Can you sew them shut?)
Jesus Christ
(Deny your maker)
He who tries
(Will be wasted)
Oh, feed my eyes
(Now you've sewn them) shut
[Verse 2: Layne Staley]
I'm the dog who gets beat
Shove my nose in shit
[Pre-Chorus: Layne Staley]
Won't you come and save me?
Save me
[Chorus: Layne Staley & Jerry Cantrell]
Feed my eyes
(Can you sew them shut?)
Jesus Christ
(Deny your maker)
He who tries
(Will be wasted)
Oh, feed my eyes
(Now you've sewn them) shut
[Guitar Solo]
[Chorus: Layne Staley & Jerry Cantrell]
Feed my eyes
(Can you sew them shut?)
Jesus Christ
(Deny your maker)
He who tries
(Will be wasted)
Oh, feed my eyes
(Now you've sewn them) shut

Led Zeppelin - Immigrant Song
Immigrant Song is a song by the English rock band Led Zeppelin. It is built upon a repeating riff and features lyrical references to Norse mythology, with singer Robert Plant's howling vocals mentioning war-making and Valhalla. The song was included on their 1970 album, Led Zeppelin III and released as a single. Several live recordings have also been issued on various Led Zeppelin albums. Other artists have recorded renditions of the song or performed it live.
Though Led Zeppelin are typically regarded as an album-oriented group, "Immigrant Song" is one of the band's several hit singles. The song's popularity has led to its inclusion in such compilation albums as Led Zeppelin Remasters (1990) and Early Days: The Best of Led Zeppelin, Vol. 1 (1999).
Lyrics:
Ah! Ah!
We come from the land of the ice and snow
From the midnight sun where the hot springs flow
The hammer of the gods
Will drive our ships to new lands
To fight the horde, sing and cry
Valhalla, I am coming
On we sweep with threshing oar
Our only goal will be the western shore
Ah! Ah!
We come from the land of the ice and snow
From the midnight sun where the hot springs flow
How soft your fields so green
Can whisper tales of gore
Of how we calmed the tides of war
We are your overlords
On we sweep with threshing oar
Our only goal will be the western shore
So now you'd better stop
And rebuild all your ruins
For peace and trust can win the day
Despite of all your losing

Led Zeppelin - Whole Lotta Love
Whole Lotta Love is a song by the English rock band Led Zeppelin. It is the opening track on the band's second album, Led Zeppelin II, and was released as a single in 1969 in several countries; as with other Led Zeppelin songs, no single was released in the United Kingdom. In the United States, it became their first hit and was certified gold.[8] Parts of the song's lyrics were adapted from Willie Dixon's "You Need Love", recorded by Muddy Waters in 1962; originally uncredited to Dixon, a lawsuit in 1985 was settled with a payment to Dixon and credit on subsequent releases.
In 2004, the song was ranked number 75 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, and in March 2005, Q placed "Whole Lotta Love" at number three in its list of the 100 Greatest Guitar Tracks. It was placed 11 on a similar list by Rolling Stone. In 2009 it was named the third greatest hard rock song of all time by VH1. In 2014, listeners to BBC Radio 2 voted "Whole Lotta Love" as containing the greatest guitar riff of all time.

Steppenwolf - The Pusher (Live In Louisville)
The Pusher" is a rock song written by Hoyt Axton, made popular by the 1969 movie Easy Rider which used Steppenwolf's version to accompany the opening scenes showing drug trafficking.
The lyrics of the song distinguish between a dealer in drugs such as marijuana—who "will sell you lots of sweet dreams"—and a pusher of hard drugs such as heroin—a "monster" who does not care "if you live or if you die".
Steppenwolf version
The song was made popular when rock band Steppenwolf released the song on their 1968 album Steppenwolf.
Organist Goldy McJohn, who recorded the original Steppenwolf version, said the version that appears on Early Steppenwolf performed by The Sparrows, a predecessor band to Steppenwolf in 1967 at the Matrix came about when singer John Kay and Jerry Edmonton were late for a performance:
Nick and Mars and me started that long version of the Pusher. John and Jerry's flight was late one night at the Avalon Ballroom, so we started and then we perfected it at the "Arc" in Sausalito on New Year's Eve in 1966.

Steppenwolf - Born To Be Wild
"Born to Be Wild" is a song written by Mars Bonfire and first performed by the band Steppenwolf. Although the lyrics do not specifically mention motorcycles, the song is often invoked in both popular and counter culture to denote a biker appearance or attitude since being featured in the 1969 film Easy Rider. Sometimes, "Born to Be Wild" is described as the first heavy metal song, and the second-verse lyric "heavy metal thunder" marks the first use of this term in rock music (although not as a description of a musical style but rather a motorcycle).

INXS - Half Dozen ~ (A SIGOPS Compilation)
INXS (a phonetic play on "in excess") were an Australian rock band, formed as the Farriss Brothers in 1977 in Sydney. The founding members were bassist Garry Gary Beers, main composer and keyboardist Andrew Farriss, drummer Jon Farriss, guitarist Tim Farriss, lead singer and main lyricist Michael Hutchence, and guitarist and saxophonist Kirk Pengilly. For 20 years, INXS was fronted by Hutchence, whose magnetic stage presence made him the focal point of the band. Initially known for their new wave/pop style, the band later developed a harder pub rock style that included funk and dance elements.
In 1984, INXS had their first number-one hit in Australia with "Original Sin". The band achieved international success in the mid-to-late 1980s and early 1990s with the hit albums Listen Like Thieves, Kick, and X, and the singles "What You Need", "Need You Tonight" (the band's only US number-one single), "Devil Inside", "Never Tear Us Apart", "Suicide Blonde" and "New Sensation".
After Hutchence's death on 22 November 1997, INXS made appearances with several guest singers, and toured and recorded with Jon Stevens as lead singer, beginning in 2000. In 2005, members of INXS participated in Rock Star: INXS, a reality television series that culminated in the selection of Canadian J.D. Fortune as their new lead singer. Irish singer-songwriter Ciaran Gribbin replaced Fortune as lead singer in 2011. During a concert on 11 November 2012, INXS stated that the performance would be their last, although they did not announce the band's permanent retirement.
INXS has won six Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) awards, including three for "Best Group" in 1987, 1989 and 1992; the band was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2001. INXS has sold over 75 million albums worldwide, making them one of Australia's highest selling music acts of all time.

Aerosmith - No Tour DuJour ~ (A SIGOPS Compilation)
Aerosmith is an American rock band formed in Boston in 1970. The group consists of Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton, Joey Kramer, and Brad Whitford. Their style, which is rooted in blues-based hard rock, has also incorporated elements of pop rock, heavy metal, glam metal, and rhythm and blues, and has inspired many subsequent rock artists. Aerosmith is sometimes referred to as "the Bad Boys from Boston" and "America's Greatest Rock and Roll Band".
Earlier this month (August 2024), Aerosmith announced to the world that they will no longer be performing together. The band’s lead singer Steven Tyler has been attempting to work through some vocal injuries, but it seems that there’s nothing more that can be done. His voice is so distinct that nobody could replace him, and he and the group likely don’t want to disappoint fans with lackluster performances, so they’ve decided to retire from the road entirely.
If anyone thinks this Band is done, take a listen to this compilation. They are only going to get better and better.

Tony Jackson - Old Porch Swing
A song about growing up in America
https://www.tonyjacksonmusic.com
Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
Mama used to love to reminisce
She'd sat out on the porch on lights like this
She'd tell me about her favorite things in life
Like honeysuckle, rain, and fireflies
[Chorus]
Out on that old porch swing
I learned everything
How to laugh and how to love
And who I am and who's up above
Everything in between
Out on that old porch swing
[Verse 2]
Sixteen, summertime, and Friday night
My daddy's guitar, couple Cokes, and all the guys
The hours passed like cars through midnight air
The first tunes that I ever played were there
[Chorus]
Out on that old porch swing
I played everything
Lynyrd Skynyrd, Stevie Ray
Some old Garth Brooks, a little Hank
Everything in between
Out on that old porch swing
[Bridge]
And my mind would just go rockin' back and forth
To the memories I made on my front porch
[Verse 3]
The first time that I looked into her eyes
She was close enough to press her lips to mine
We were swingin' through the night, hand in hand
It's where the best chapter in my life began
[Chorus]
Out on that old porch swing
I had everything
My first love and my first kiss
What I'd wanted and what I'd missed
Everything in between
Out on that old
And I love that old
And I miss that old porch swing

Released as a single in September 1970 by Island Records and A&M Records, "Wild World" saw significant commercial success, garnering attention for its themes of love and heartbreak, and has been covered numerous times since its release.
Lyrics:
[Intro]
La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la, la, la
La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la, la, la
La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la, la, la-la, la
[Verse 1]
Now that I've lost everything to you
You say you wanna start something new
And it's breakin' my heart you're leavin'
Baby, I'm grievin'
But if you wanna leave, take good care
Hope you have a lot of nice things to wear
But then a lot of nice things turn bad out there
[Chorus]
Oh, baby, baby, it's a wild world
It's hard to get by just upon a smile
Oh, baby, baby, it's a wild world
I'll always remember you like a child, girl
[Verse 2]
You know I've seen a lot of what the world can do
And it's breakin' my heart in two
Because I never wanna see you sad, girl
Don't be a bad girl
But if you wanna leave, take good care
Hope you make a lot of nice friends out there
But just remember there's a lot of bad and beware
Beware
[Chorus]
Oh, baby, baby, it's a wild world
And it's hard to get by just upon a smile
Oh, baby, baby, it's a wild world
And I'll always remember you like a child, girl
[Bridge]
...la-la-la-la-la-la-la, la, la
La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la la la-la, la
Baby, I love you
But if you wanna leave, take good care
Hope you make a lot of nice friends out there
But just remember there's a lot of bad and beware
Beware
[Chorus]
Oh, baby, baby, it's a wild world
It's hard to get by just upon a smile
Oh, baby, baby, it's a wild world
And I'll always remember you like a child, girl
Oh, baby, baby, it's a wild world
And it's hard to get by just upon a smile
Oh, baby, baby, it's a wild world

Justin Johnson - Crankin' Up the 3-String Shovel Guitar!
Now that's different.
After building hundreds of these shovel guitars, I've actually never kept one for myself... I always end up selling the one I'm playing after a show, and then build a new one. When a tattoo artist contacted me on Instagram ( @santatintagreece on IG ), wanting to paint one of my guitars for me... I sent him a blank shovel, and he created a masterpiece on it! Around the same time, I was contacted by LeROCKSKIN Guitar Straps, in Italy, who wanted to make me a custom strap. I checked out their work and they can do ANYTHING, so I sent them some images of the artwork SantaTinta had done on my new shovel guitar to see if they could match it in leather. The whole process took 9 months, and the help of several artists from around the world.. but now I have the ULTIMATE SHOVEL GUITAR! I figured the best way to take it for it's first ride around the block, would be to go back where it all started... head out on the back porch, and play some "Crankin' it Up!"

Alison Krauss & Union Station - Paper Airplane
Paper Airplane is an album by Alison Krauss and Union Station. Released on April 12, 2011, it was Krauss's 14th album and her first release with Union Station since Lonely Runs Both Ways in 2004. It includes cover versions of "My Opening Farewell" and "Dimming of the Day", originally recorded by Jackson Browne and Richard Thompson, respectively.
The album's lead single, the title track, was released to country music radio and Adult album alternative radio on March 28, 2011, but failed to chart.
The album was engineered and mixed by Mike Shipley, whom Krauss persuaded to return to engineering after a 10‑year absence.
Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
I've put it all behind me
Nothing left to do or doubt
Some may say
But every silver lining always seems to have a cloud
That comes my way
[Verse 2]
Anticipated pleasure or unexpected pain
No choice I fear
And love is hard to measure hidden in the rain
That's why you'll find me
[Chorus]
Here all alone and still wondering why
Waiting inside for the cold to get colder
And here where it's clear that I've wasted my time
Hoping to fly cause it's almost over now
[Verse 3]
People come together, people go their own way
Love conquers few
And I'll do whatever, I'll say what I need to say
Just not for you
[Chorus]
How many days should I smile with a frown?
Cause you're not around with the sun on your shoulders
And how many nights must I wake up alone?
And know in my soul that it's almost over now
[Outro]
Our love is like a paper airplane flying in the folded wind
Riding high, dipping low
And innocence is fair game, I'm hoping I can hold it in
Our love will die, I know

Alison Krauss & Union Station - Every Time You Say Goodbye (Official Audio)
Every Time You Say Goodbye is the second album by the American bluegrass band Alison Krauss & Union Station, released in 1992. It reached number 75 on the Billboard Country Albums chart.
At the 35th Grammy Awards ceremony held in 1993, Every Time You Say Goodbye won the Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album.
Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
Look at the sky, baby
What do you see?
Looks like the tears that I cry
Fallin' down like rain on the ground
Every time you say goodbye
Take a look around now
Why don't you feel
The way that cold wind stings and bites
And your words just are like arrows through my heart
Every time you say goodbye
[Chorus]
There's a restless feeling knocking at my door today
There's a shadow hanging 'round my garden gate
I read between the lines of words you can't disguise
Love has gone away and put these tears in my eyes
[Verse 2]
Look at the sky, baby, see how it cries?
Ain't it just like my tears
Fallin' down like rain on the ground
Every time you say goodbye
[Chorus]
There's a restless feeling knocking at my door today
There's a shadow hanging 'round my garden gate
I read between the lines of words you can't disguise
Love has gone away and put these tears in my eyes
There's a restless feeling knocking at my door today
There's a shadow hanging 'round my garden gate
I read between the lines of words you can't disguise
Love has gone away and put these tears in my eyes

Alison Krauss & Union Station - Let Me Touch You For Awhile
Lyrics:
It's been a long time coming
As you shed a lonesome tear.
Now you're in a wonderama,
I wonder what you're doing here.
The flame no longer flickers.
You're feeling just like a fool.
You keep staring into your liquour,
Wondering what to do.
I don't hardly know you,
But I'd be willing to show you
I know a way to make you smile.
Let me touch you for a while.
I'm gonna ruin my black mascara.
You're drinking whiskey when it should be wine.
You keep looking into that mirror,
But to me you're looking really fine.
I don't hardly know you,
But I'd be willing to show you
I know a way to make you laugh at that cowgirl
As she's walking out your door.
I know a way to make you smile
Just let me whisper things
You've never heard before.
Just let me touch you, baby,
Just let me touch you for a while.
I don't hardly know you,
But I'd be willing to show you
I know a way to make you smile.
It's been a long time;
Let me touch you for a while.

Lyrics:
Had myself a tall one
Waitin' at the bar
Wasn't gonna leave here
'Til I had her in the car
Moon was growing bright
Stars were standing still
Waiting for my baby
In the cold December chill
I been achin'
From desire
Blood runnin' like a ragin' river
But her heart's on fire
Couldn't write a letter
'Cause I don't know what to say
Couldn't write a song
'Cause I don't know what to play
Come a little closer
Better hold me tight
Gonna roll on down the highway
And rock on with my baby all night
