June 30, 2024 Sunday Message: RIGHTLY DIVIDING THE WORD - Pastor Chuck Kennedy
06-30-24 Rightly Dividing the Word
2Tim 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
This is becoming an issue in the Body of Christ
As some think this is an excuse to divide the Word into scriptures they want to apply
Or scriptures they do not want to obey
Never are we told to take anything away from scripture, never
Rev 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
Rev 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
2Tim 3:13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
2Tim 3:14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
2Tim 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
2Tim 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2Tim 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
I am finding this common in those who want to defend the hyper grace message
They want to cut out anything that does not fit their doctrine
Or they want to blame it on who it was supposedly written to and for
All Scripture is for us, ALL
John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
If you get sidetracked thinking some verses are not for today or you in particular
You do not fully develop
We are repeatedly told to keep and maintain ALL scripture
Make every effort [Do your best; Be diligent] to ·give [present] yourself to God as the kind of person he will approve. Be a worker who ·is not ashamed [or will not be shamed] and who ·uses the true teaching in the right way [correctly handles the true message/word of truth; or holds carefully to the true message/word of truth].
2 Tim 2:15 Expanded Bible
Matt 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Matt 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
The reasons for incorrect belief are several
Most do not have the Baptism of the Holy Ghost
They are trying to understand God from a head knowledge
Another reason is misunderstanding of the translator's wording
In this instance, dividing is not defined nor used as we know divide to mean
It is not used to separate and exclude as in divided up
Most people confuse it as the Greek word “merizo”
Meaning to divide or separate into parts
https://www.blueletterbible.org/lexicon/g3307/kjv/tr/0-1/
Luke 12:13 And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.
But in 2 Tim 2:15
It is a different Greek word only used once
It is the Greek word orthotomeō
https://www.blueletterbible.org/lexicon/g3718/kjv/tr/0-1/
And it means
To cut straight, to make straight, to handle aright, to teach the truth directly and correctly
The reason again for the importance of this is it determines how and what you believe
You will only grow in grace with a proper belief in the unadulterated word of God
Not excuses as to why or reasonings so as to support your incorrect doctrine
The very thing they are proclaiming is what they are doing
To their hurt
1Cor 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
1Cor 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
1Cor 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
1Cor 2:15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
1Cor 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
We will give account of our treatment of the scriptures
1Cor 3:8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
1Cor 3:9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
1Cor 3:10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
1Cor 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
1Cor 3:12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
1Cor 3:13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
1Cor 3:14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
1Cor 3:15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
1Cor 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
1Cor 3:17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
1Cor 3:18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
1Cor 3:19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.
1Cor 3:20 And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.
1Cor 3:21 Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours;
1Cor 3:22 Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours;
1Cor 3:23 And ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's.
If you love Jesus, He will keep you
John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
John 14:24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.
John 14:25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

09-08-24 | Sun Message: WE NEVER DIE | Pastor Chuck Kennedy
John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
John 11:26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
Jesus promised us we will never die
How can this be? What did He mean?
John 8:51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.
John 8:52 Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death.
Death is defined as separation from God
Gen 2:16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
Gen 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
He did eat and died
But was still on earth in physical form
Gen 3:8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
Life is the opposite of death
If death is separation from God
Then life is the union with God
John 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Perish is separated from God, now and for eternity
So the Lord could have told Adam
If you eat of this forbidden fruit you will be separated from God which is Life
Or if you do not eat of it and obey me, you will have Me, God, or life eternal abundantly
John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
We could then say
Sin is separation from God
God’s gift to mankind is eternal life, in Him, knowing Him, enjoying all He is forever
Clearly there is a death of the spirit of man, or separation from God who is a Spirit
And there is a death of the body which is the house of man on earth
When the Lord promised we would not die
He was clearly referring to a spiritual death, not the physical
That must be understood
When reading the scriptures they must be rightly divided to know when death is referred to
Which one is referenced
Eccl 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
John 6:48 I am that bread of life.
John 6:49 Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.
John 6:50 This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.
John 6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
1John 5:11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
1John 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
1John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
1John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
There is no longer any fear of death
You do not sleep at death
You do not stop existing at death
You do not become incoherent nor in a holding tank of darkness at death
You are immediately in His presence
You receive a new spiritual body which is the end of your faith, the completion of your salvation
1Pet 1:9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
Rom 8:23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
Never die in the sense your spirit goes either to heaven or hell immediately
2Cor 5:6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
2Cor 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
2Cor 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
Phil 1:20 According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.
Phil 1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Life being the opposite of death
The more you know Him
The more you expel death trying to work in you
Life or light expels darkness and anything that works darkness
Life brings benefits to enjoy, death brings fear
Ps 103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
Ps 103:3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
Ps 103:4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
Ps 103:5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.
Like the moth who enters the cocoon and comes out a beautiful butterfly

Sept. 01, 2024 Sunday Message: ORDER IN THE CHURCH Part2 - Pastor Chuck Kennedy
Sept1-2024SundayFICCBradentonFL
FAITH INTERNATIONAL CHRISTIAN CENTER
Founder: Pastor Chuck Kennedy
MESSAGE: ORDER IN THE CHURCH Part2 - Pastor Chuck Kennedy
This chapter is on church order
If tongues had passed away with the original apostles and prophets
Why would the Lord devote a complete chapter to their use in the church?
Most who teach against tongues have never experienced the gift they bash
Thus their understanding is incomplete when they have never operated in the gift they are trying to teach about
Do not be deceived
Satan hates the gifts, and in particular the tongues
So his every attack s to stop their operation or pervert it
1Cor 14:1 Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.
1Cor 14:2 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.
1Cor 14:3 But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.
1Cor 14:4 He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.
1Cor 14:5 I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.
1Cor 14:6 Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?
1Cor 14:7 And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?
1Cor 14:8 For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?
1Cor 14:9 So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.
1Cor 14:10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.
1Cor 14:11 Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me.
1Cor 14:12 Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.
1Cor 14:13 Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.
If you have the faith for tongues
You also have the faith to interpret
Remember it is an interpretation, not a translation
1Cor 14:14 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.
This is the Biblical definition of praying in the Spirit
Wherever the scriptures state to pray in the spirit it is saying pray in tongues
Jude 1:20 But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith, by praying in the Holy Spirit,
Eph 6:18 With every prayer and petition, pray at all times in the Spirit, and to this end be alert, with all perseverance and petitions for all the saints.
1Cor 14:15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
This needs to be developed more in the church, singing in the Spirit
1Cor 14:16 Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?
1Cor 14:17 For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.
The testimony of the Apostle Paul
1Cor 14:18 I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:
1Cor 14:19 Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.
1Cor 14:20 Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.
1Cor 14:21 In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.
Prophesied back in Isaiah
As a sign of God’s church
Isa 28:11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
Isa 28:12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
1Cor 14:22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.
This is a difficult verse
But the context is he is explaining that Isaiah prophesied tongues years ago
He said unbelievers, the rebellious, would not believe it
It is fulfilled today in those who will not believe God's gifts for the church
Or the unbelievers
A sign to us believers that prophesy is true,
A sign to the believers who receive tongues of the absolute truth of God’s prophesy
It came true to unbelievers and prophetically fulfilled truth to believers
1Cor 14:23 If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?
1Cor 14:24 But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:
Because he understands what is being said
1Cor 14:25 And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.
1Cor 14:26 How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.
This is church
It is not a one man show
It is made up of the Body of Christ
1Cor 14:27 If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.
There is a limit due to order in the church as to how many may give an oration in tongues
1Cor 14:28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.
1Cor 14:29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.
We are to judge prophecy as believers
1Cor 14:30 If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.
Order in the church
Give everyone opportunity to share if the Lord shows them something
1Cor 14:31 For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.
1Cor 14:32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.
This is where he instructs us that it is not a free for all service
Each person has to be led by the Spirit with their spirit in full control
No interruptions, no self exaltation
Emotionalism is good but not if you cannot conbtrol your spirit
The service is orderly and the pastor has control
If you usurp authority over him
You are out of order even if you think you are being led by the Spirit
The Holy Spirit will maintain proper protocol and order
1Cor 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
1Cor 14:34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
1Cor 14:35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
1Tim 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
But look at this
1Cor 11:5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.
Here Paul is acknowledging women DO pray and prophesy publicly
Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
