How to Carve a Leaf Stamp into a Rubber Block for Cardmaking & Journals
Leaf Stamp Carving Process | How To Carve Your Own Stamp | Stamp Carving Easy Tutorial for Beginners
Here's a quick video on the entire process of carving a leaf stamp on a rubber block. I sped it up to 3 minutes but took about 15 minutes to carve. It's always fun to see the results when you think you're done carving and you ink up the stamp.
This is an advanced- beginner level stamp. The beginner level is for carving straight lines, without many intersections. This stamp has rounded shapes and a few intersections, so it's a great practice to work on joining each carving stroke to get a nice result.
Remember to always cut away from you.
GO SLOWLY.
Keep a clear work surface.
GO SLOWLY.
Let me know if you want to see the process of carving other stamps.

Gel Plate Selection:
The cornerstone of Gel Printing lies in selecting the right gel plate. For beginners, opting for a medium-sized plate is recommended. This provides an ample canvas without overwhelming newcomers to the technique.
Essential Tools:
Gather basic tools like brayers, acrylic paints, stencils, and mark-making tools. These tools are fundamental for experimenting with different textures and designs on the gel plate.
Preparing the Gel Plate:
Before diving into the creative process, ensure your gel plate is clean. Apply a thin layer of acrylic paint evenly with a brayer, setting the stage for your prints.

Gel Printing Techniques allow beginners to master the art of monoprinting effortlessly. Simply apply paint to the gel plate, experiment with colors, and press a sheet of paper onto the plate to witness the magic unfold.
Textured Wonders:
Delve into the realm of textures by introducing various objects into your Gel Printing repertoire. Leaves, fabric, or textured materials pressed onto the paint-covered plate can create captivating prints that tell a unique visual story.
Gel Printing for Beginners:
For those new to Gel Printing Techniques, beginning with smaller gel plates and simpler designs is key. This approach allows beginners to grasp the fundamentals while building confidence in their artistic abilities.
Fearless Experimentation:
The beauty of Gel Printing lies in the freedom to experiment. Fearlessly explore different colors, tools, and techniques, as the process thrives on unpredictability and the joy of discovery.
Maintain a Tidy Workspace:
Keeping your workspace clean is crucial for a seamless Gel Printing experience. Regularly clean the gel plate between prints to ensure the purity of your designs and prevent unintentional color blending.

Art Journal Page Ideas: Removing Paint Technqiue (Sgrafitto)
Learn a new mixed media art journaling technique using matte acrylic paint and a smooth scraping tool, such as a wooden chop stick or back of a paintbrush.
Create a background image for your art journal page by addig layers of acrylic paint to your page and then letting it dry. Choose a color that you want to peek through the next layer. Then, add another layer of contrasting paint. Gently scrape lines, dashes, circles, or other shapes into the wet paint. Let dry.
You will have interesting and subtle textures and shapes for your page, similar to sgraffito.
