Debunked: Fake climate fact check of President Trump
Hey everyone. Steve Milloy here. The fake fact checkers at FactCheckdotorg recently tried to fact check Donald Trump on global warming. But FactCheckdotorg struck out. Let’s go through it. In a recent interview with TV producer Shawn Ryan, President Trump talked about why climate hoaxers stopped calling it “global warming.” Here’s what he said: PAUSE
FactCheckdotorg dismissed President Trump’s statement because, quote, “The fact that a few places have gotten cooler over time does not negate the overwhelming trend in the opposite direction for the rest of the world, nor does it invalidate the term,” end quote.
Let’s first recognize, as FactCheckdotorg reluctantly does, that President Trump is correct: Recent changes in surface temperatures have been regional. Antarctica has been cooling for 70 years. The Southeastern US has been cooling for 120 years. The Southwest Pacific and Western South America also are cooling. Even though atmospheric carbon dioxide levels are the same everywhere, large parts of the Earth, in fact, are cooling. The explanation is unknown but it’s clear that it’s not carbon dioxide emissions.
Why are we even talking about global warming the first place? Per this new study in the journal Science, the Earth has been cooling for the past 485 million years. Even though we’re in a warming trend that started 20,000 years ago – way before coal plants, SUVs, cheeseburgers and even recorded human history – we’ve got a long way to go before the planet is as warm as it used to be. Strike one, FactCheckdotorg.
Next, President Trump noted that scientists in the 1920s thought the world was cooling: PAUSE
But FactCheckdotorg said: Quote, “It’s unclear which news story Trump had in mind. He mentioned Time, but in a search, we couldn’t find any such articles from the 1920s," end quote. I don’t know where the mention of Time magazine came from as it’s not in the intervew, but it took me literally seconds to find this wire service article from March 8, 1927 featured on the front-page of the Kansas City Star. Quote, “Washington Scientist Finds World Cooling,” end quote reads the headline. Strike two, FactCheckdotorg.
FactCheckdotorg then went to further accuse President Trump of imagining there was a Time magazine cover story about global cooling from the 1970s. Well, there was no cover story and he never said there was in the interview. But there was this Time Magazine story from June 24, 1974 reporting that the, quote, “telltale signs of another ice age were everywhere” end quote.
Strike three, FactCheckdotorg. You’re out. But I’m going to give President Trump the last word on who and just how crazy climate hoaxers are. PAUSE

U.S. Authorities Were Warned About Suspected Trump Gunman
Ryan Routh criticized Trump and threatened to kill Vladimir Putin, setting off alarm bells among those involved in Ukraine assistance efforts
The gunman suspected of attempting to assassinate former President Donald Trump acted so erratically during his years as a pro-Ukraine activist that other Americans who encountered him flagged his behavior to U.S. authorities.
Ryan Wesley Routh was taken into custody in Florida on Sunday after Secret Service personnel spotted and opened fire at a man pointing a rifle through the fence at a West Palm Beach club where Trump was golfing. The man fled in a black Nissan and was quickly apprehended.

Richard Ellis Talks: "Back To Life"
Mar 31, 2024
After Jesus was raised from the dead, His disciples ultimately went back to the lives they'd lived before they started following Him. If the people closest to Jesus returned from this break in "normalcy" with a commitment to continue preaching the Gospel and spreading the Good News, it's a good reminder to us, too: even though a break from the norm can sometimes serve as a good reset, it's important not to lose momentum in our discipleship journey even when the day-to-day grind resumes. Here's Pastor Richard's latest Video Talk, "Back To Life", for you to enjoy, then forward on to a couple friends!

San Francisco 49ers fans upset over new Levi's Stadium tailgating policy
The San Francisco 49ers are speaking out and defending a newly implemented tailgating policy at Levi's Stadium that has some fans upset and pushing back ahead of the season opener Monday night.
The new policy, dubbed Directed Parking, has parking lot attendants directing cars to the next available spot rather than allowing fans to pick their own spaces. The team said it hopes the new policy will help with "reducing congestion, improved safety, enhanced accessibility, time savings and improved traffic."
Since the announcement, over 3,100 people have signed a Change.org petition saying the policy would make it harder for groups to park near one another and that its implementation is a sign of poor communication between the Niners and fans.
It's just wrecking everything. It's definitely going to hurt the experience because the tradition of football is tailgating as well," said Niner Empire's Joe Leonor, who started the petition.
Despite pushback, the team said the implementation is all about safety.
"Safety is our top priority," the team told NBC Bay Area in a statement. "… And while we want to ensure all guests are able to enjoy themselves, tailgating guidelines are in place to protect the safety of all guests and staff."

Beginning of the End!’: Trump Trashes NFL over Changes to Kickoff Rule
The NFL’s new kickoff rule has its fans and its critics. The former President of the United States falls into the latter.
The Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles opened their season up in Brazil on Friday night. Former President Trump, evidently taking a break from campaign activities, took to Truth Social to voice his displeasure at the NFL’s new safety-minded kickoff alignment.
“I can’t believe the NFL is effectively getting rid of the always exciting Kick Off Return. Such an exciting part of football. What are they doing? BEGINNING OF THE END!” Trump wrote.
The NFL’s new kickoff rules, meant to enhance safety, are as follows:
Kickers will kick off from their own 35-yard line. The 10 other players from the kicking team will line up on the opposing team’s 40-yard line.
The receiving team will have at least nine players line up in the “setup zone” between the 35- and 30-yard lines. Two returners will be stationed in a landing zone, from the 20-yard line to the goal line.
No players (except the kicker and returners) can move until the ball is received by a returner.
Returners can return the football wherever it lands.
A touchback at the 20-yard line would occur if the ball touches the ground or player in the landing zone, rolls beyond the goal line and downed in the end zone.
A touchback could occur at the 30-yard line if the ball goes out of bounds behind the receiving team’s goal line, if it strikes the goalpost, or lands at or beyond the goal line and downed in the end zone.
It looks like this:
The rules were meant to promote safety while encouraging players to return the ball. However, so far, that’s not happening. In 2023, the touchback state was 74 percent. Through two games this year, it is 79 percent.
“In 2011, the league moved kickoffs forward five yards to the 35-yard line, making it easier to kick the ball deep into the end zone and leading to more touchbacks with teams starting at the 20-yard line,” Fox News reports. “In 2016, touchbacks placed teams at 25, which further encouraged them. Then last season, returners could call for a fair catch anywhere, not just in the end zone, for a touchback, resulting in the lowest return rate in NFL history.”
The NFL is only two games into its 2024 season, though if the touchbacks keep increasing, the likelihood of yet another kick-off rule change grows.
