Exodus, Part 19
We cannot approach God without addressing our sins first; there has to be an atonement for our sins. Join us as Amy teaches the parallels between the continual sacrifices for the atonement of sins in Exodus Chapters 27 & 28, to Christ's death on the cross as our final atonement, our eternal redemption.
Did you ever wonder how Jesus could become our High Priest and not be from the tribe of Levi? He brought a change from the old order, He comes from the tribe of Judah, the order of Melchizedek, He opens the door for any who are born again through Christ into the High Priesthood, and none that believe in Him are excluded. How beautiful this gift! We now have authority to come into the Holy of Holies, to stand before the throne of the Most High God, to commune with Him, all because of the sacrifice Christ made for us. How does it feel to know that you are part of a Royal Priesthood? A chosen generation?

Join Amy as we continue through Exodus Chapters 23 & 24, the study of the bi-lateral power covenant between God and Israel. It was impossible to keep all of the Laws, showing us that we needed something more; Christ. Did you know that angel in Hebrew means messenger? Could this be reincarnate Jesus? What are the parallels between Moses and Jesus? Does Moses and his generation of unbelievers make it into the Promised Land? How does God uses His creations to show His power and send messages? Just as God's people journeyed to the Promise Land, is God taking His time in a situation in your life? How can you apply this slow methodology to your situation?

Exodus, Part 13
In-laws to the rescue! In Chapter 18 we learn about the excellent advice from Moses's father-in-law, a pagan priest who once is told of God's deliverance of His people out of the land of Egypt, exclaims that the Lord is greater than all gods! Moses rightly attributes the miraculous escape from slavery to God. Jethro lends advice to Moses on how to effectively judge the people. Chapter 19 begins the prelude to the Ten Commandments, and a beautiful analogy of God's love for us; "...I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself" (19:4). Does this increase your faith, knowing God's love for us? As Amy teaches us, obedience and following His commands is how we show our love for Him. We learn God's instructions for Moses on how to prepare the people for His presence on Mt. Sinai.

Exodus, Part 14
Having given instructions of how to prepare and approach God, in Chapter 20, 50 days after the crossing of the Red Sea God makes His presence known on Mount Sinai to Moses and to the people. The same God that causes the mountains to quake, trumpets to sound, and a voice that thunders in Heaven, is the same God who came down to us as fully man to die for our sins. How does this renew your faith in God? The Ten Commandments were written by God's own finger onto stone tablets, couriered by an angel to Moses because no one could be in God's holy presence. The first 5 commandments instruct how to treat God and the second 5 commandments instruct how to treat others. Do you have God's commandments written on your heart?

Exodus, Part 12
Do you live day-to-day like the Israelites, hoarding more manna than instructed, or do you place your faith in God to provide what you need for that day? We start off with the instructions to rest on the seventh day, the first instructions for the Sabbath. Within weeks of the parting of the Red Sea, God's people were rebelling again and again against God's commands by taking matters into their own hands and understanding. So many of us struggle with letting go of control. Did you know that this is a sin of self-idolatry, the sin of trusting your own judgment above God's? Moses's name comes from the Hebrew to "draw out". After being drawn out of the waters as a baby, God instructs him to draw out water from a rock, but does Moses do as exactly instructed? Or will he act out of the flesh with his punishment being to never enter the Promised Land? Who else has been referred to as “the Rock'' and how does that relate to Exodus? Come along with Amy through Chapters 16:20 - 17:16, as we continue our understanding of God's provisions for His people, and His opinions towards untrusting and unbelieving behaviors.

Come along with us as Amy teaches us about the "unbelieving generation" of Moses and how we may find parallels in our own current-day attitude towards God's provisions that He has gifted us. Come along and learn in Chapters 14:13 - 15:19, about a remarkable journey instructed to be remembered forever, as God shows His authority and dominion over His creation to free His people out of the hands of the Egyptians. Exodus, Part 9
In Chapter 13, we study God's instructions to remember the Passover. The firstborn of all men and beasts of the Israelites, are none other that God alone. He had protected them from His wrath, and now they are to be dedicated to Him. We learn of the feast of unleavened bread, the laws pertaining to the firstborn, and God's call to His people to leave Egypt under His guidance and protection. Come along with Amy as we learn one of the most memorable moments in the Old Testament and the symbolic parallels between the Passover Lamb and Jesus in the New Testament. We further the pattern of the God yesterday, today, and tomorrow, caring for those that hear His call and respond faithfully.

Join Amy and she takes us through Chapters 7 - 8:15 as we see God's continuation of His plan for freeing His people. We learn about the meanings behind the hardening of Pharaoh's heart and the reasons for doing so. From Moses's earlier request, we already know that Pharaoh holds no regard for the Lord of the Israelites. Amy explains the symbolism of the signs when Moses and Aaron go toe to toe with Pharaoh's magicians, as they show they can only imitate God's power, but not overpower. In the beginning of Chapter 8, we see the continuation of the power of the Lord our God through the second plague of frogs. At this point, Pharaoh has had enough and entreats Moses to speak to the Lord for relief. Great encouragement is given through Moses's journey of God's provision and protection when in obedience to His calling.

Exodus, Part 3
Join Amy and she takes us through Chapter 4 of Exodus as we learn about Moses's three objections to his calling and God's three miraculous signs for Moses to demonstrate for the people to believe and yet Moses still showed unwillingness, possibly due to the rejection he received from his own brethren in Chapter 2. Then we see how God is angered by Moses's lack of conforming to God's instructions regarding circumcision. As we can see from this example, Moses still needed to be obedient to God and His instructions. This chapter highlights the acceptance of ministry for both Moses and Aaron to God's calling for their destiny. Do we offer our complete obedience to what God is asking us to do?

Join Amy and she takes us through Chapters 5 & 6 of Exodus and we see Moses and Aaron confront Pharaoh, asking for permission for the Israelites to journey three days to worship the Lord their God. Pharaoh is angered and intensifies his hardships and vigilance over the children of God. The taskmasters are beaten, the children of Israel cry out to Moses, and in turn Moses calls out to God. Chapter 6 is a beautiful renewal and testimony of God's provisions for His people. In this chapter, Amy explains the 7 "I will's" that God imparts to Moses regarding God's promises to His people and His provisions. In challenging times, can you relate to Moses and his trepidation? Exodus, Part 1
Join Amy and she takes us through the Book of Exodus and God's promise to his people of Israel. In this recording, Chapters 1 and 2 are covered. In chapter 1, we learn about the backdrop to the birth of Moses. Approximately four-hundred years have passed since the end of Genesis with the descendants of Abraham. Times were tough for the people of Israel under the new Pharaoh, but time and time again we witness God working all things for good according to His plan. Despite the circumstances, the children of Israel still multiply in both numbers and strength.
Chapter 2 takes us through the birth of Moses, and his upbringing in Pharaoh's household. The same Pharaoh that was under the influence of Satan to eliminate the coming Messiah, imposing harsh and cruel tenants upon the Hebrews, would nurture and raise Moses as his own; the very child that would grow up to set the people of Israel free from Egyptian rule. This chapter also reminds us that we should wait for God's own timing, and not our own!

As Amy takes us through Genesis Chapter 42-43:15, we see Jacob, agonizing over all the troubles that have befallen upon him in his life, even as an appointed prophet of God. Jacob still shows a lack of faith and couldn't see how God was using both the ungodly and a famine to set Jacob's family up for success. Guided by the Holy Spirit, we see how Joseph orchestrates the plan to have his whole family brought from the land of Canaan to Egypt to be saved from starvation. The humility and tenderness that Joseph shows during the reuniting and reconciliation of his brothers will surely bring a tear to the eye.

Genesis, Part 36
Abandoned, forgotten, ignored; just a few words Joseph could have used to describe his time over his 10+ years of struggle and hardship. His own brothers selling him as a slave, being wrongly accused and put into the Pharaoh's dungeon, and a forgotten promise leaves him there for another 2 years. Yet we see through the retelling of his story, God's hand was involved every step of the way, refining Joseph until the time was right to place him into the position God had ordained for him.
Have you ever felt that God wasn't there during a time of turmoil or difficulty? Come along as Amy takes us through the teachings of Genesis Chapter 41, and perhaps the story of Joseph will help instill hope that through patience for God's timing, our good works will not go unrewarded.
