Having given instructions of how to prepare and approach God, in Chapter 20, 50 days after the crossing of the Red Sea God makes His presence known on Mount Sinai to Moses and to the people. The same God that causes the mountains to quake, trumpets to sound, and a voice that thunders in Heaven, is the same God who came down to us as fully man to die for our sins. How does this renew your faith in God? The Ten Commandments were written by God's own finger onto stone tablets, couriered by an angel to Moses because no one could be in God's holy presence. The first 5 commandments instruct how to treat God and the second 5 commandments instruct how to treat others. Do you have God's commandments written on your heart?
