FIRST PLAY! Streets of Rage Remake (PC) - Prologue "Route" Playthrough / Gameplay Sample
Streets of Rage Remake is 2011 free fan game based on Streets of Rage, developed by Spanish fan developer group Bomber Games. Claiming itself as an unofficial remake, it's basically a mish-mash of the three games with a lot of original and remixed content added; to make room for all the levels, the game makes extensive use of branching paths. Highlights include being able to play as any character in the series so far (including Adam) and Multiple Endings.
After eight years of development, the group eventually released their work, only to be pulled down from the developer's site at Sega's request (although details are sketchy, basic reckoning concludes that they did not want unsolicited competition for their eventual compilation re-release on Xbox LIVE), but not before having received wide coverage and spread with unofficial updates fixing the game. So don't worry, you can find it easily with a simple search.

PC LONG PLAY: Railroad Tycoon II (PC) - Scenario - Handle of the Bread Basket - Gameplay Demo
This is another fun RTS strategy game back from the MS-DOS era. Gameplay still holds up pretty well. Railroad Tycoon is a business simulation game series. There are five games in the series; the original Railroad Tycoon (1990), Railroad Tycoon Deluxe (1993), Railroad Tycoon II (1998), Railroad Tycoon 3 (2003), and Sid Meier's Railroads! (2006).
Railroad Tycoon was written by game designer Sid Meier and published by MicroProse. Though it shares the "Tycoon" suffix, it is not related to other Microprose games such as RollerCoaster Tycoon and Transport Tycoon, which were developed by Scottish programmer Chris Sawyer.
The objective of the game is to build and manage a railroad company by laying track, building stations, and buying and scheduling trains. The railroad must be built in a certain time to win the game.

UNRELEASED PROTOTYPE: Tinhead for the Super Nintendo - Lame Platformer Buried for Humanity
When I was a kid, I always wondered why some video games never got released. Then I started playing these prototypes and stopped wondering. This is a pretty awful platformer. It did get released for the Sega Mega Drive, but nobody noticed because it was absolute garbage. This SNES prototype appears to be 100% complete..... That is to say 100% complete **it. A shame really... The graphics are quite nice but the game dynamics / gameplay are trash.

Quik: The Thunder Rabbit for SNES [Unreleased Video Game] - Bubsy Clone for the Super Nintendo
Quik the Thunder Rabbit is a side-scrolling platform video game, which Stywox developed for Titus France to publish on the Amiga and Amiga CD32 in 1994. A port for the Super NES was planned but cancelled. You can tell it was a Commodore game because it only had a single button control on this SNES prototype (for jumping).

UNRELEASED PROTOTYPE: Superman for the SNES - Tech Demo / Sample Gameplay
This was a tech demo of a planned Superman game for the Super Nintendo that was exhibited at the 1992 Summer CES Show. This prototype is just a short loop of demo gameplay, it isn't a playable prototype. The game was cancelled shortly after this CES demo for unknown reasons.

UNRELEASED PROTOTYPE: Sylvester & Tweety for SNES - Platformer with Impressive Graphics
Sylvester and Tweety was one of several games based on Warner Brother cartoons by Sunsoft. It eventually met its end when Sunsoft went bankrupt in early 1995. Acclaim bought the rights to distribute some of their games (like Porky Pig's Haunted Holiday), but this game perhaps was not in good enough shape for them to consider releasing.

UNRELEASED PROTOTYPE: Eurit for the Super Nintendo - Gameplay of Mediocre Puzzle Game
This is an unreleased prototype that was developed for the SNES. The gameplay is a cross between Dig Dug (building bridges instead of digging tunnels) with a capture the flag gameplay. It's pretty dull and mediocre. It plays okay and the game seems 100% complete -- but I understand why it was never released. It's really a dull game and the cinematic screens don't really fit the genre.

FIRST PLAY: Legendary Axe for the Turbografx-16 with Commentary (Rookie Gameplay)
The Legendary Axe is a horizontal platform video game for the TurboGrafx-16. It was developed and published by Victor Musical Industries in Japan and by NEC in North America. It was released in Japan on September 23, 1988 and in North America as a TurboGrafx-16 launch title on August 29, 1989. In the game, the player controls Gogan, a barbarian whose girl, Flare, was kidnapped by the cult of Jagu. The player must navigate through six platforming levels, armed with a legendary axe named "Sting" to defeat Jagu and his minions and rescue Flare. The game features a rechargeable "strength meter" that determines how much damage is dealt from the axe to enemies.
The Legendary Axe received high praise and accolades among video game reviewers, and it received positive preview coverage in anticipation with the TurboGrafx-16's launch, showcasing the new console's capabilities. Reviews from gaming magazines such as Electronic Gaming Monthly called it one of the best adventure games seen at the time. It was highly praised for its detailed graphics and animation, diverse music and gameplay, difficulty level, and execution. It won the "Best TurboGrafx-16 Game of the Year" and "Video Game of the Year" (for all consoles) awards from Electronic Gaming Monthly and VideoGames & Computer Entertainment respectively for 1989. The game continued to receive praise from reviewers years after its release for its simple gameplay and game design that showed the performance and capabilities of the TurboGrafx-16.

LONG PLAY: Street Fighter 2 on the Commodore 64 - Gameplay, Cut Scenes & Ending (Playing as Ryu)
Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether they could, they didn't stop to think if they should.” - Jeff Goldblum, Jurassic Park
I think this is the worst video game that I've ever played. The most cynical cash grab I've ever seen -- even the title screen even has a warning that this game sucks more than the instruction manual would indicate.
To take a 16 bit fighting game that uses 6 action buttons for various kicks and punches -- and port it to an 8 bit computer from 1982 that only has 1 action button. Just an absolutely dismal conversion (graphics were poorly scanned from SNES version of the game).
Yes, I used a cheat code to minimize how much time I had to play this shovelware. I believe this horrible game actually spends more time on loading screens than in actual gameplay.... It certainly felt like it.
LONG PLAY: Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 (PC) - Crazy Castles - Classic Windows 98 PC Game (RTS)
Not my best effort. I was too conservative when I started the game and built too many cheap flat rides. In hindsight, I should have spent the money on big roller coasters to draw the crowds.
GAME REVIEW: Sonic The Hedgehog for the Sega Master System - The Console's Best Platformer
My Game Rating = 10 out of 10 - The Best Platform Game for the Console
Sonic the Hedgehog is a Japanese video game series and media franchise created by Yuji Naka, Naoto Ohshima, and Hirokazu Yasuhara for Sega. The franchise follows Sonic, an anthropomorphic blue hedgehog who battles the evil Doctor Eggman, a mad scientist. The main Sonic the Hedgehog games are platformers mostly developed by Sonic Team; other games, developed by various studios, include spin-offs in the racing, fighting, party and sports genres. The franchise also incorporates printed media, animations, feature films, and merchandise.
Naka, Ohshima, and Yasuhara developed the first Sonic game, released in 1991 for the Sega Genesis, to provide Sega with a mascot to compete with Nintendo's Mario. Its success helped Sega become one of the leading video game companies during the fourth generation of video game consoles in the early 1990s. Sega Technical Institute developed the next three Sonic games, plus the spin-off Sonic Spinball (1993).
