In percentage terms, production in the United States has been growing less than inflation. So while production slows down, prices continue to rise. There is a shortage of certain products as critical as fuels, which accentuates the stress in the most affected social sectors. More than 90,000 drug overdose deaths last year and more than 30,000 suicides among veterans of the empire's latest military adventures are an expression of a deeper social malaise, which goes beyond the economic situation, however critical let this be. As a correlate, punctual manifestations of social violence are observed, such as shooters who shoot unarmed citizens, events that are an expression of contained social violence. In this context, buying a rural piece of land in Costa Rica means having a safe haven at hand against possible scenarios of generalized social violence in the main North American cities.

A remote natural refuge within a friendly and orderly country like Costa Rica, far from losing value, will gain it progressively and inexorably. Even more so if we express said value in a currency such as the dollar, which has been rapidly losing its value, not only as a means of exchange, but as a means of saving to preserve value over time.
