China Wants “Friendly Relations” with “Open and Inclusive” Taliban

China has been developing a relationship with the Afghan Taliban, which turned out to be a smart move considering the group recently took control of the country. China says it expects the Taliban to form an “open and inclusive” government, kind of like how the Chinese Communist Party has been “open and inclusive” of Hong Kong and Taiwan joining the mainland.
