I am speaking in my capacity as a private citizen, and not in my capacity as a board member. These statements are also not representative of the board or its individual members.

Sorry for the choppiness of this video...The next meeting is Tuesday 4/12/22 at 7:30 in the High School Library. Eileen, on the Curriculum committee said she would address concerns for the controversial book "The 57 Bus" for English in 9th grade. It's a true story about a nonbinary person whose name is Sasha. It talks about sexuality and what pronouns to go by. Sasha, assigned male at birth, identifies as agender or genderqueer—that is, neither male nor female. There's a section where one guy tells another guy he wants to "suck his prick". Tons of m'fers, f-bombs, p-words that describe parts of the female anatomy, and use of the n-word. Sorry for the inappropriateness here. Hoping that people will be at the next meeting and help keep this out of the schools. I expect our schools to hold our children to high standards. There are many other books that can take the place of this choice. I will not be at this meeting as Riverdale and Pompton often have meetings on the same dates.
