Dog Training (Establishing Respect) /

Learn how to train dogs for any performance event, Dog show, or for the home. Conventional training techniques will not work on dogs with old working lines. These dogs have primitive instincts and are bred to do jobs with little to no input from humans. As they mature they instinctively test pecking order. These tests can go unnoticed and cause these dogs to not see us as leaders. This usually happens about 12 to 18 months but can begin as early as 8 to 12 weeks. A dog with primitive instincts may exhibit one of two traits, Fight or Flight we recognize this as shy or aggressive. This is an act due to lack of social skills normally in breeds bred more for companionship vs a dog bred for a job. The techniques in this video are taught in Day 1 training of an Eric Salas Workshop. Before any performance or conformation training can be effective with these types of dogs you must first use these techniques to earn mutual respect and trust. You must watch this video from start to finish to truly be effective. You will see Eric Salas demonstrate how to create a solid foundation to fix this challenge to ensure success in all future training. After watching this video and successfully practicing these techniques look for Eric Salas Dog Training workshop Day 2 (Introduction to Dog Show Training)
