The Victorian era was presented to us through literature and film as a time of something beautiful. A time of progress and change in society, Ladies in beautiful dresses, men in austere suits, an era of splendid events, finery and passionate love. Behind it all were cases of sickness, filth, and stench. Today you and I will dive headlong into the enclosure and try to piece together how bad things were there.
