A former cinema, Patria-LukOil in Chisinau, has been transformed into a refugee shelter, and has provided a temporary placement for Ukrainian evacuees. The center is reportedly sponsored by city administration as well as charity organizations, as well as local residents who from time to time provide basic necessities. Moldova has accepted more than 300,000 refugees from Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian special operation in the country.
