Quickie: Spreading

Spreading is an intellectually dishonest debate technique where someone speaks quickly and rhythmically, including filler words and loud breaths, as a substitute for valid content. It activates the amygdala and stimulate the hippocampus, which turns off the listener's rational processes and makes them emotionally connected to the speaker.
