Limpieza (cleanse) with a Kichwa Shaman in the Ecuadorian Amazon

We recently visited a small Kichwa community on the banks of el Rio Napo, near Misahualli, Ecuador. We ate maitos, a traditional dish made by wrapping a fish, chicken, or chontacuro in the leaf of a plant that is closely related to banana, held boas and baby parrots, and we received a cleansing from the shaman.
It is interesting to note that tobacco does indeed kill physical parasites and pests, and in this context it is being used to "kill" energetic toxins of a similar nature.
After the limpieza, I felt very light, and then very tired, passing out for several hours.
