STARLESS, STARLESS NIGHT, the debut novel by author Eric L. Guille, This imaginative sci-fi work centers around the character LD Starr, a twelve-year-old boy with extra-terrestrial roots who learns that tenacity and optimism can overcome even interstellar odds.

Guille is a Vietnam veteran, wrote the story to show young adults (and older adults) how they can persevere with a mixture of imagination, ingenuity and tenacity.
Eric and his Illustrator Andrew Zettler discuss such topics as:
- How a young extraterrestrial character can show us that nothing is impossible.
- Why loyalty to family and friends is more important now than ever (no matter their species)
- Eric’s career progression: of being a mechanical engineer, soldier, software developer, and life-long lover of sci-fi.
- Life in Vietnam, where there would be 8-9 weeks of non-stop rain. When the rain stopped, there was silence as the stars lit up the sky
