You can set solid boundaries while also respecting others. In fact, respect for yourself is only possible when you respect others. You don't have to get confrontational nor defensive to establish what you will and won't allow in your life. The words we tend to use in this conversation seem to lead more to confrontation & it's simply not necessary.
