Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins has died, the band said on social media late on Friday. He was 50 years old and was found lifeless in a hotel in Bogotá, Colombia, where the group was to perform. The cause of death was not disclosed.

Foo Fighters was scheduled to perform at Lollapalooza, in São Paulo, on Sunday night (26), ending the festival as the last attraction of the Budweiser Stage, but the group's next performances were cancelled.

"His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with us forever," the group wrote on Twitter. The band canceled the rest of the South American tour.

"The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins. His musical touch and infectious laughter will live on with us all forever. Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family, and we ask that your privacy be addressed." with the utmost respect at this unimaginably difficult time," read the band's Instagram announcement.
