E07 0001 Granite City IL and St. Louis MO on Route 66 25

This entire series was filmed during late summer of 2010.Many of the personalities still can be found but many others have moved on. This series will tell you of history, it will show attractions, it will make you laugh and cry. This is the Mother Road. Follow us as we reveal American's main street. In this episode of the Route 66 Adventure we filmed the Chain of Rocks Bridge that was opened by the city for this production. So thank you city of Madison! At one time they wanted to dismantle the bridge and sell the metal, but there was no profit in it. From the bridge we took the older alignment that started from that bridge on the Missouri side to film the St. Louis Arch. This stretch of Route 66, from the bridge to the arch passes through some tough neighborhoods, so be alert. As we continued southwest we conclude this segment at the worlds largest Amoco sign.
