Pharma companies argue that lower drug prices would mean fewer breakthrough drugs. Is that true?

This week on 51/49, James examines whether it’s true that even though 90% of Americans are in favor of regulating big pharma, the lowering of prescription drug prices in the United States would disincentivize innovation, and therefore result in fewer and fewer life saving drugs in the long run, and why so many members of Congress, both Republican and Democrat, are so keen to block the provision to allow Medicare to negotiate with pharmaceutical companies for lower drug prices.
