Keanu Reeves and Morpheus: The Matrix, do you want to know what it is?

Here in an early scene in the movie, before Neo is fully awakened, Morpheus sitting in a red leather upholstered armchair, after laying out the problem as Neo sees it "like a splinter in your mind" asks simply "The Matrix. Do you want to know what it is?"

This leads to the Great Awakening.

Thankfully, we are not yet in Neo's situation, although we are nearing it. Ray Kurzweil talks about The Singularity. Elon Musk has implanted electrodes into a man's brain. Basically, a dystopic blend of Neo's Matrix and Sarah Connor's Terminator is on the horizon for us in the not-too-distant future if we don't change course. Problem is, we need unity of purpose and that is very difficult to achieve in this media-saturated environment.
