MANILA BAY, Philippines (March 27, 2022) Rear Adm. J.T. Anderson, commander, Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 3, and U.S. Embassy in the Philippines’ Chargé d’Affaires, ad interim, Heather Variava speak during a reception in the hangar bay aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72). While in the Philippines, Abraham Lincoln celebrated the 70th year of the U.S. Philippine alliance through at-sea distinguished visitor embarks, ship tours, community relations projects, MWR tours and a reception hosted in the ship’s hangar bay. Guests to the reception included Filipino distinguished visitors, senior government officials and U.S. Embassy staff members. Abraham Lincoln Strike Group is on a scheduled deployment in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability through alliances and partnerships while serving as a ready-response force in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
