Hell and the Lake of Fire

The Bible often mentions "death" and "hell" together...

"And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." —Revelation 20:13-15

The “dead” which are being delivered are ALL the Christ-rejecters throughout history. Every human being who fails to obey the Gospel of Christ will go to Hell (2nd Thessalonians 1:8). Hell (Hades) is like a jail cell, where the guilty temporarily await sentencing in court (2nd Peter 2:4). After being sentenced at the Great White Throne of Judgment (where all the world's unsaved will stand trial), the wicked will be PUNISHED in the Lake of Fire (Greek: Gehenna) for all eternity. “...punished with everlasting destruction...” (2nd Thessalonians 1:9).

As read in the above Scriptures, the Bible teaches that "hell" will be cast into the Lake of Fire.

"Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels" —Matthew 25:41.

Notice the word “cursed.” Only cursed people go to hell. To die in one's sin without the Lord is to be cursed forever. It's so simple to be saved, yet the wicked flaunt their pride and wicked unbelief. If only people would believe the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, they would be forgiven and saved. “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” (1st Timothy 2:4).

Those who die in their sins will suffer EVERLASTING FIRE! (Matthew 25:41). The important thing is that you don't end up there. Religion is man trying to reach God through human effort; but Christianity is God trying to reach man by the sacrifice of His only begotten Son on the cross.
