What Does War Mean to Business Security?

As business leaders, what are we supposed to do when we hear these types of things in the media? Don't freak out because that doesn't help anybody, but we can't ignore it. Action needs to be taken.

The bad actors go after the weakest link, and all companies are ultimately connected across the globe. No physical boundaries. They'll use whatever tactic they can. They'll go up the supply chain.

You can't live in the false bubble of they're not going to come after you. They'll go for the weakest link, and if you're the weakest link that's where they'll start. Nobody wants to be the weakest link. If one of your customers is a target, and you won't know that, then you will indirectly be a target to get to them.

You also don't want one of your suppliers/ vendors to be affected, which will impact your business. That'll make you an unplanned victim. Redundancy combats that risk, but it must be planned and tested to ensure it does its job before you need it.

This is not to discourage us. It's not to make us freak out. Nobody makes good decisions freaked out and nobody makes good knee-jerk decisions. We want to be calm. We want to be rational. We want to run our business well. Don't mess around with this cybersecurity stuff.
