White House walks back Biden’s Putin comment, says US not seeking Russia regime change

The White House is walking back comments made by U.S. President Joe Biden during his fiery speech to the world last night when he said Russian President Vladimir Putin “cannot remain in power.”

Biden seemed to suggest regime change was in order for Russia as he promised continued support for Ukraine, however administration officials now say those comments were ad-libbed and there is no plan to pursue that.

But that hasn’t stopped the Kremlin from firing back. Jennifer Johnson has the latest.
