WHEN Sandy Jackman, from Guyana, was leaving her gym one evening in 2013, she did not realise that her life would be changed forever - on her way home, she was attacked by two men who doused her with acid. The incident left Sandy blind in one eye and visibly scarred on the left side of her face, chest and thighs. Sandy didn't get justice as her attackers were never caught. To maintain her safety, Sandy was forced to flee the country and moved to Canada. With her new life in Toronto, Sandy is trying to recover from the trauma of the attack by focusing on her fitness and building new relationships. She said: "I'm over the sad part. I'm happy and I just don't want anybody to be sad for me. Just be happy that I'm here." Sandy has been actively dating, but she admits she has struggled to find someone who is honest and genuine. Sandy added: "If someone can come to me and be honest, keep it real and no judgement, I think we can get along pretty well." Today, Sandy is going on a blind date as she continues the quest for love. Sandy said: "Most girls I've dated have liked my scars but I don't know how my blind date will react." Will she meet the one?
