BREAKING DOWN: Breaking The Tabo -- Are Filipino Stereotypes True?? Being A Nurse Is Bad?? | EP 170

Of all the One Down: Breaking The Tabo videos I think this one is the most off putting. The last line of "When we seek out the truth, we find that America isn't the solution of our problems but the reason." Okay, pause a damn minute. All our families came to the USA for a better life and if some Fil-Ams CHOOSE to be nurses that's somehow a problem because reflects a perceived stereotype?? This video could've gone lighthearted and poke fun at stereotypes and dive into where the line of falsehood and truth falls, but of course not. They had to go on this lecture about "American occupation" and jokes are bad. This is why folks are tired of this damn narrative. The writers of One Down seeks to find injustice in EVERYTHING. Every-Damn-Thing. Gaslighting those of us who choose careers with financial security as though it's presenting a negative portrayal of Filipinos because why? It continues a perceived stereotype? Give me a break. How about it's because Filipinos want a good living and provide for their family. Ironically, their next video is titled Utang Na Loob (Debt of Gratitude) because their entitled sensibility shows none.
