How to shop for a home loan in this economic environment

3 must-do items when shopping for a home loan in today's market. There is some hard-core survival mode stuff going on and a lot of Loan Officers and banks are amazingly unprepared for this environment.
#1 - Ask for receipts. Get copies of the bond market chart and entire rate sheet on the day you are quoted
#2 - Ask for the rate that requires you pay NO FEES AT ALL.
#3 - Make sure you get everything in "written" form. Text or email. Not a phone call. Have something you can show them later. Not because you will, but so they know that you might if they mess around!
