Thousands of brave Russian anti-war activists have been detained by Putin’s regime, including Yelena Osipova, a 77-year-old survivor of the Nazi’s siege on Leningrad. Osipova, who was taking part in a protest Wednesday night in St. Petersburg to object to Russia’s Ukraine invasion, was quickly detained by men in body armor as the crowd shouted anti-war slogans. Emma Vigeland explores stories of anti-war protestors in Russia and the inhumanity involved in blanket blaming citizens for the horrors of their government.
