On Thursday, 24 MAR 22, on the 90th EPISODE, of New Paradigms with Sargis Sangari, Flavius Mihaies, an Independent Journalist, discusses #Russia and the future of #NATO, presenting a thought-provoking #European perspective immersed in history and educated by ground-level experience during the #Syrian and other recent conflicts in the #MiddleEast.

The road to the conflict in #Ukraine was not overnight and direct. As Flavius pointed out, the road to war has been set through many years through diverse locations like Syria and elsewhere in the #MiddleEast to including #Iraq and #Lebanon.

The policy of the #UnitedStates in other conflict regions has changed with administrations and led to misunderstandings and confusion as to the central and constant policy of the United States, and by default, NATO.

In 1948 NATO was a defensive organization designed to contain the #globalist agendas of the #CommunistParty of the #SovietUnion. In 2022, Flavius addresses the perspective that many anti-globalists seem to have flipped and now support a globalist agenda as offensive or at least passive.

Therefore, under a seemingly contradictory policy, the US does bear some responsibility for the current instability in #Europe.

For example, Flavius pointed out that the #Ukrainian #AzovBrigade, long supported as an integral part of the Ukrainian #NationalGuard defense structure, had modeled its symbolism off the 2nd SS Division from #WWII. The memory of the crimes against humanity has not been called out or denounced by the #US, but paradoxically with its internal policies, supported with weapons and funds. How could the US support external units that carry those symbols overseas with its internal policies against White #Supremacist ideology?

In addition, US policy appears to be supporting chaotic new #ISIS-like movements in the technology field. "What will happen to #ElonMusk's technology to the Ukrainians if they decide to use it against global norms?" Once a technology is given over to any group, it could potentially lead to a "genie outside the bottle" moment when that "peaceful" Tech is suddenly #weaponized and used against the people who donated it for peace.

"What control does Elon Musk have on his #satellites once he has released its use to other groups?"

The danger of weaponization of civilian #humanitarian Tech into #terroristic military is too real and has raised its head before in places such as Syria and Iraq.

In addition, what are the second and third-order effects of the conflict in Ukraine?

Unfortunately, current leadership does not seem to be focused on the long-term cascading effects, missing fine details in the lack of a granular understanding of the causes of the current crisis.

"The Ukrainian infrastructure is being destroyed, and refugees are being flooded into the #Baltic nations beyond what they can absorb. Meanwhile, the US is selling outdated weapon systems to these same Baltic Nations that will do very little to protect them from the genuine and very current threats." The real question is "why"?

The current conflict is not a "traditional" war that most people have in mind, like WWII. Instead, the conflict in Ukraine is a new generation war that requires a new paradigm and critical thinking to understand both the root causes of and the needed solutions to truly solve it or at least mitigate its most damaging effects.
