Julian Assange gets married in Belmarsh prison

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has married his partner Stella Moris, in a service at Belmarsh prison, where he has been held since 2019. The couple were reportedly allowed six guests, including Assange’s two brothers and his father.

Mrs. Assange addressed supporters outside after the ceremony. ‘I’m very happy but I’m very sad … I wish he were here … What we’re going through is inhuman,’ she told the crowd.

Julian Assange remains in Belmarsh, awaiting the outcome of a legal battle that could see him extradited to the US on espionage charges.
