Boar Creek Ranch - Hog Heaven

Early spring 2011, An excellent group of hunters and I ventured southbound to Boar Creek Ranch located in Eastern Texas. The southern hospitality proved to be as wonderful as the hunting grounds. Ranch owners Nick and Kelly provided comfortable accommodations, relaxed atmosphere, and several helpings of delicious mouth watering cuisine. Over the weekend several wild Russian hogs and feral pigs were harvested from the surrounding woods of the 200 acre property. My hog was taken with a Marlin M1895 "Guide Gun", lever action rifle chambered in the powerful 45-70 Government cartridge. This adventure at Boar Creek Ranch was my first hog hunting experience and I anticipate on returning to seek out another hog hunt next March if not sooner.
