Episode 42 - What Should U.S. Role Be In Foreign Wars?

19

What should the U.S. role be in foreign wars? Should the United States function as the World's police and get involved in every dispute in which the U.S. has a geopolitical interest? Should the U.S. be hands-off and allow for countries to fight their own battles? Are there exceptions to either approach?

As the Russia-Ukraine war ends its fourth week, the United States continues to send military defense and aid to Ukraine, but has not sent troops. Is this the correct strategy? Ukraine is not part of NATO, so why are we helping? Is it to protect the neighboring NATO countries and stop Russia's power grab?
