Pakistan celebrated National Day on Wednesday with a military parade in Islamabad, the nation’s capital. The parade was an opportunity for Pakistan to show off its advanced military hardware, including tanks, fighter jets, and missile complexes. The parade included a salute of Prime Minister Imran Khan, President Arif Alvi, and several high-ranking military officials, and was concluded with an airdrop of paratroopers.

National Day commemorates the anniversary of the first demand for independence from British rule in 1940. Pakistan achieved independence in 1947, following the Partition of India.
