My Mommy's Memorial Video

My mom requested for her 68th birthday that she would have a similar send-off as her brother had for his in May of 2021 on Facebook. Her name was Phyllis Anne Anderson, but I knew her as Mommy, my family knew her as Phyddy and friends knew her as Mame Dennis. Her life was filled with love, adventure, and humor. She was a firm believer in Jesus Christ being baptized in the ocean as a teenager and spreading the gospel for 51 years. She traveled the world, entrepreneur, a fierce single mother, a caretaker for her mother, and did everything she could to give me the best life she could.

I am truly blessed that God knew we needed those last months together to laugh, cry, resolve any issues we had. Anyone who knew us would say we were the best of friends and we also were oil and water that somehow worked! Below I have written a birthday/I miss you letter because I just at this time do not have the strength to say it out loud without breaking down into a puddle of tears.

"Happy Birthday Mommy!" would have been the text or video call I would have made today to wish you a 68th. I miss calling and video chatting with you about anything and everything. Life isn't the same and well that is par for the course as you would say. You truly were my best friend in the whole world, but only on loan until Jesus was ready to call you home. Thank you for fighting for me, loving me unconditionally, and never giving up as I had done the same. Please know I have kept my word that I am not broken, but I am very, very sad but living.

Elmer and the kitties are doing well. He misses talking to you about the bible and all your long stories without giving him too many words in edgewise to speak lol! The kitties are loving your blanket, especially Whiskers. You wanted to hug them so much, and this way you are. You championed me on every venture I did including my YouTube channels. Elmer and I are still making videos and I get sad that you aren't here to comment or text me your thoughts. We spun the wheel for you on The Jiggle Biggle which you were so excited to do and OMG was the movie on your list a stinker. I just wished I could have texted you to say "Mom, you are never allowed to pick a film again you silly goose!" Again, thank you for always encouraging me. When I am ready I will be able to listen to your voice messages over the years. I miss your laugh mommy, but thank God we live in this era where I have videos of it.

I will continue to look out the window and sing "This is the day, this is the day that the Lord has made. I will rejoice, I will rejoice and be glad in it." I am standing firm on my faith with Christ and grateful to have lived in a household that serves the Lord. Oh, Mommy, we all miss you so much. I can't wait until we are together again with Jesus. That will be a glorious day!

With all my heart, your favorite daughter. -Lisa

We have the same videos scored to four songs she requested, but I am unsure if they will be claimed or struck. Those four songs are Here Comes the Sun and My Guitar Gently Weeps by The Beatles, In the Garden by Alan Jackson, and For Those Tears I Died by Marsha Stevens.

A special thank you Scott Buckley for allowing me and others to use your music, especially for videos such as this.
