Eternally Secure -- With Much To Lose

While the truly born-again child of God cannot lose true salvation – ongoing sin in his life can be extremely costly. There is MUCH the believer does stand to lose when he chooses to sin rather than to flee temptation.

The first half of this message presents seven solid arguments showing that a truly born-again Christian is once and forever saved and CANNOT lose true salvation; we then cover seven things a Christian CAN lose if he fails to flee temptation and does fall into sin. As stated by the Apostle John, "Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward." Among some of the things a Christian can lose are his joy, his health, his life, his testimony, and eternal rewards that in this life cannot even be imagined. Doors of opportunity that may have opened begin to close. Further, when a Christian rejects God's word and chooses disobedience, he also begins to lose his ability to perceive spiritual truth, which may lead to an even worse condition. When we reject the light, God sends darkness.

This sermon was preached by Pastor Sam Adams on 9-23-2018 at Independence Baptist Church in Ocala, Florida. Bible text: 1 Peter 1:1-5; 2 John 1:8.
