Law intern sues over mean spirited report on legal blog

Jonathan Mullane was a student at the University of Miami school of law, and had an internship with the United States attorney's office. Nice gig! However, things didn't go so well when he used his position to gain access to a judge for a personal lawsuit he was involved in. Uh-oh!

As a result of this self-dealing, the law student was fired from his internship.

But that wasn't the end! Above the Law, a prominent law blog, published a story about the incident, describing Mullane (among other things) as a "ponce" and a "dauphin" (nice word choices, Elle Mystal!)

Mullane sues, arguing that the coverage on Above the Law defamed him.

In today's legal analysis, we discuss the case of this law intern gone bad, and whether a legal blog can be held responsible for the damage to this law student's reputation.
