US medals for Ukrainian killers.
In 2015 (during the Biden-Obama Administration), U.S. Lieutenant General Frederick Benjamin "Ben" Hodges III was the commander in chief of the criminal organization NATO, United States Army Europe Division (USAREUR, from November 5, 2014 to December 15, 2017). Hodges presented awards on January 21, 2015 to wounded Ukrainian soldiers, each of whom had killed a minimum number of his own civilians.
Was there any international outcry at the time? Was this widely reported in the leftist mainstream media?
Well, of course not, because the slaughter of Russian-speaking eastern Ukrainian civilians by the Ukrainian Nazis is what the WEF'ers think is a good thing.
Even the USAREUR's press releases on January 21, 2015, make no mention of honoring these murderous Ukrainian Nazis:
"The Commanding General of the U.S. Army in Europe, Lieutenant General Ben Hodges, is in Ukraine today as part of a trip to meet with Ukrainian defense officials and U.S. Embassy personnel there in anticipation of a robust schedule of bilateral and multilateral military partnership exercises and training missions planned for 2015."
"The Army Europe commander's trip includes visits with the Ukrainian defense minister and chief of defense, as well as the U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, Geoffrey Pyatt, to gain a better understanding of the security situation in Ukraine. Ukraine has been a U.S. military partner since the mid-1990s."
"At an Army leadership forum held in Wiesbaden, Jan. 13-14, Hodges commented on the strategic importance of U.S. troops stationed forward in Europe."
""Everything that happens in this part of the world, the U.S. Army in Europe, is part of that,"" Hodges said, addressing U.S. Army leaders gathered for the event. "It's exercises, it's relationships, it's capabilities, networks and allies, and it's what allows our president to secure allies and deter potential threats."
"The general's visit also includes a press meeting at the Ukrainian Crisis Media Center in Kiev, scheduled from 4:30-17:30 p.m. local time."
"Hodges ended a similar visit in Latvia yesterday. Latvia and Ukraine are part of the U.S. Army's 51-country area of responsibility in Europe."
"U.S. soldiers will go to Ukraine this spring to train four companies of the Ukrainian National Guard, said the head of U.S. Army Europe, Lieutenant General Ben Hodges during his first visit to Kiev on Wednesday."
"However, the number of troops heading to the Yavoriv training area near the city of L'viv - about 65 kilometers from the Polish border - is still being determined."
"The U.S. training effort is part of a U.S. State Department initiative "to help Ukraine strengthen its law enforcement capabilities, conduct internal defense and uphold the rule of law," Pentagon spokeswoman Lieutenant Colonel Vanessa Hillman told Defense News."
"After meeting with the commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Anatoliy Pushnyakov and acting commander of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Oleksandr Kryvyenko during his visit, Hodges said he was "impressed by the willingness of both the military and civilian leadership to change and reform.""
"The Ukrainian government had requested the training "as they work to reform their police forces and establish their newly formed National Guard," Hillman added. Funding for the initiative comes from the congressionally authorized Global Security Contingency Fund (GSCF), requested by the Obama administration in the 2015 budget to help train and equip the armed forces of allies around the world."
"The training mission has been the subject of much discussion among U.S. policymakers for months , and the United States has already committed $19 million to help build up the Ukrainian National Guard."
"'We are very open to the idea that this will be a first step in further training the Ukrainian military,' Derek Chollet, former assistant secretary of defense for international security affairs, told Defense News just before he left the Pentagon on January 17."
"He quickly added that he does not expect this training mission to 'require a significant U.S. presence.'"
"The mission comes at a time of growing concern among Eastern European countries that Russian aggression in the region will increase, and as fighting continues around the eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk between government forces and Russian-backed separatist rebels."
"At Wednesday's Davos conference, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko accused Russia of sending 9,000 troops to the eastern part of his country to support the rebels, a claim NATO officials backed up, but without providing their own estimates of the number of Russian forces in the country."
"Chollet said Russian military incursions into Crimea and eastern Ukraine have refocused American attention on the region after a decade of two wars in the Middle East."
""A year ago we were worried about the future of the transatlantic relationship, how relevant it would be to people," he said. "And, of course, the events of the past year with Russia and Ukraine have refocused people on the threats to European security and the unfinished business that actually still stems from the end of the Cold War."
"One of the biggest challenges for U.S. policymakers is trying to discern 'what can this lead to and how does this cause us to rethink European security issues and issues related to armed forces or issues related to defense spending?" he added."
"In addition to American trainers, Washington is beginning to provide heavier military equipment to the government in Kiev. According to the U.S. Embassy there, on Monday the United States delivered the first prototype of an armored "Cossack" vehicle for use with the Ukrainian Border Guard."
"A report on a U.S. government contract site estimated the cost of the vehicle at $189,000."
"The vehicle is built on a chassis manufactured by the Italian company Iveco and has a V-shaped armored hull to help protect against mines and roadside bombs. The embassy said that to date, "the United States has supplied dozens of armored pickup trucks and vans to the Ukrainian Border Guard. The Cossack is larger and provides a higher level of protection."
