Meerkats.
Meerkats are little squirrel-sized members of the mongoose family.
Meerkats are adorable fuzzy tiny creatures with pointed brown noses.
backstripes,  a long, thin tail to aid in standing,  as well as dark brown spots around their binocular vision eyes!
Meerkats forage for a wide range of foods every day. They sift over the sand in search of...Beetles, spiders, and scorpions, as well as small reptiles, birds, eggs, and fruit! Living in big family groups of up to 40 people, known as Mobs or Gangs, They operate well together.
While the mob forages, several Meerkats known as Sentries keep an eye out for the others. They stand tall, their heads darting around in search of predators.

If the sentries notice something, they send out a loud screech, and everyone flees to the safety of the burrow.
Meerkat burrows have numerous entrances, tunnels, and rooms. Babysitters take turns caring for young Meerkats known as Pups inside the burrow. Meerkats excavate their complex dwellings with their big curved claws on their fingers. Did you know Meerkats functioned so well as a group?
I'm sure you could do the same for your family and friends!
